on september 11, according to beijing market supervision: in order to ensure the safety of seasonal food during the mid-autumn festival, the beijing municipal market supervision bureau conducted food safety supervision and random inspections on mooncake products produced and sold by the city’s food production companies, shopping malls, supermarkets, farmers’ markets, restaurants, snack shops, and online platforms.

according to the national food safety standard for the use of food additives (gb 2760), the national food safety standard for pastries and bread (gb 7099), the national food safety standard for limits of pathogenic bacteria in pre-packaged foods (gb 29921), the list of non-food substances that may be illegally added to foods (second batch) and other relevant standards and regulations, the sampling items this time include: food additives (benzoic acid and its sodium salt, sorbic acid and its potassium salt, dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt, aluminum residue, propionic acid and its sodium salt, calcium salt, natamycin residue, saccharin sodium, cyclamate, tartrazine, sunset yellow, carmine, amaranth, brilliant blue, new red, erythrosine, indigo, allura red, acid red, quinoline yellow, propylene glycol), microorganisms (total colony count, coliform group, staphylococcus aureus, salmonella, mold), physical and chemical indicators (peroxide value, acid value), non-food substances (dimethyl fumarate) and other 28 indicators.

a total of 199 batches of mooncakes were sampled for inspection, and all of them passed the inspection. judging from the sampling results, the food safety of mooncakes sold in the city is relatively good.
