fast technology reported on september 1 that zhu huarong, chairman of changan automobile, delivered a speech at the 2024 world power battery conference today, talking about the problem of pursuing "large size and heavy weight" in new energy vehicle product innovation.

zhu huarong mentioned, among new energy vehicles, those between 1 ton and 1.5 tons accounted for 15.68%, those between 1.5 tons and 2 tons accounted for about 58.64%, and those between 2 tons and 2.5 tons and above accounted for 21.89%. and fuel vehicles between 1 ton and 1.5 tons accounted for 58.41%.

zhu huarong believes that new energy vehicle brands are constantly expanding fuel tanks and increasing battery life, causing vehicles to "move forward with a heavy load", increasing vehicle production and use costs, and going against the original intention of industry development.

in fact, what zhu huarong said is true. depending on the size and mileage of the car,the total mass of the power battery pack is also different. the heaviest power battery pack reaches 700kg, and the total weight of the car reaches 3000kg.

at present, domestic electric vehicles of the same level are often about 100-200kg heavier than fuel vehicles due to the battery pack. if it is a medium or large suv model, in order to ensure the endurance level, the battery pack capacity needs to be increased, and the weight of the whole vehicle generally exceeds 2 tons, far exceeding the fuel vehicle of the same level.

the requirements for the energy consumption performance of the entire vehicle are more stringent, which is not conducive to the automotive industry moving towards low energy consumption.
