"we believe that new energy vehicles are divided into three categories: upper, middle and lower. only by achieving the new energy revolution can we realize true new energy vehicles. only when the energy source is green electricity can it be a true new energy vehicle."

what does this have to do with the automotive industry?

data released by the national energy administration on august 5 showed that in the first half of this year, my country's wind power and photovoltaic (clean energy) power generation accounted for 20% of the country's total power generation. it is estimated that this proportion will reach 35% by 2030. if hydropower, nuclear power, etc. are added, it will reach more than 55%.

therefore, new energy is not the problem. the key problem is that the power grid cannot absorb it.

"as you know, 96% of our new energy storage is batteries, so batteries are not only for new energy vehicles, but also the main energy storage method for new energy consumption. the development of new energy is related to new energy vehicles. its long-term energy storage is hydrogen energy, medium-term energy storage is electrochemical power stations, and short-term energy storage is vehicle-grid interaction. all our cars can be turned into energy storage devices to form a virtual power plant, integrating vehicle, energy, road and cloud. this will not be far away and will explode in 2030."

when talking about the development of power batteries, ouyang minggao introduced three research focuses: safe batteries, smart batteries, and solid-state batteries.

among them, solid-state batteries, as the core technology of the next generation of power batteries, are becoming the focus of major battery companies and capital markets since this year.

"for the research and development of solid-state batteries, i think there are three steps. the first step is to focus on solid electrolytes, the second step is to focus on high-capacity composite negative electrodes, and the third step is to focus on high-capacity composite positive electrodes."

ouyang minggao finally emphasized that the process of technological transformation of lithium-ion power batteries will continue for a long time, but for china, high-energy-density all-solid-state batteries and low-cost, long-life lithium-ion batteries are equally important to china's power battery industry, and a dual-wheel drive is required.
