China News Service, Beijing, August 21 (China News Service) The 6th China-Africa Media Cooperation Forum and China-Africa Think Tank High-level Dialogue opened in Beijing on the 21st. African Union Commission Chairman Faki delivered a written speech and proposed four measures to strengthen China-Africa media cooperation, including encouraging the exchange of professional media talents between the two sides.

In his written speech, Faki said that in today's interconnected world, the media plays an important role in promoting exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, guiding public opinion and promoting people-to-people exchanges. In the face of the challenges brought by globalization, Chinese and African media need to work together to build a mutually beneficial partnership based on complementary advantages and mutual learning.
He proposed four measures to strengthen China-Africa media cooperation. "First, we should encourage media professional talent exchange programs and scholarship programs on both sides. Media professionals will benefit greatly from project exchanges and mutual learning, and at the same time gain lasting friendship."
Faki said that secondly, China-Africa cooperative reporting can become a powerful tool to encourage Chinese and African media to strengthen new media cooperative reporting on common issues. Through joint reporting on topics such as friendship, sustainable development, cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between the two sides, it can strengthen exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and African media, share experiences, and provide a new perspective for global news production.
He pointed out that the two sides should also establish a media innovation laboratory to cultivate the creativity and practical ability of media practitioners, encourage partnerships with technology companies, universities and research institutions, incubate innovative projects, bridge cultural gaps and attract diverse audiences.
Faki also pointed out that it is important to attach importance to multilingual support and translation. "Language bottlenecks will hinder China-Africa cooperation, so resources must be invested in language training for journalists who are interested in reporting on China-Africa stories. Accurate translation can help our stories and ideas spread further."
