Xinhua News Agency, Dar es Salaam, August 22 (Reporter Hua Hongli) Tanzanian Zanzibar Minister of Health Maziyi inspected the China-aided schistosomiasis control project in Zanzibar on August 21. He thanked the Chinese government for its strong support for Zanzibar's health work over the past decades and thanked the Chinese schistosomiasis control experts for their efforts.
Maziyi said that he would fully support the work of Chinese experts in Sang. Maziyi visited the popular science base built based on the project, learned about the schistosomiasis detection and other situations, and discussed related issues with the project expert group.
Maziyi thanked the Chinese experts for their continued training of grassroots schistosomiasis prevention technical personnel, and hoped to use the schistosomiasis prevention and control project to strengthen the construction of Zanzibar's disease prevention and control system.
Since the second phase of the China-aided schistosomiasis control technology project was launched in Zanzibar in 2023, the first group of experts from the Jiangsu Schistosomiasis Control Institute has achieved good results in project organization and operation, field and laboratory work, health education, and the promotion and application of China's schistosomiasis control experience.
