Small circles and the mainstream.
"The Legend of Cao Cao" is a work of great significance in the history of war chess games. As the last and culmination of Koei's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", it had countless fans in those days.
Even today, there are still quite a few MOD authors who continue to create new content based on this work, and there are also many players playing the latest MOD of "Cao Cao Biography". After more than 20 years of development, the MOD circle of "Cao Cao Biography" has become a very mature and vibrant player community. With the support of the creators' new engines, new content and new gameplay, they have largely made up for the gap that Koei Tecmo has not released an orthodox sequel after "Cao Cao Biography".
In this process of continuous innovation, the MOD circle of "Cao Cao Zhuan" has not only produced countless classic MODs, but also encountered some unexpected disturbances. After the game market entered the wild era of mobile games, some mobile game companies took advantage of the loopholes of weak copyright awareness, or changed the works of MOD authors into krypton gold mobile games under the guise of "copyright purchase". Some companies even plagiarized the content created by MOD authors without even saying hello, which brought a very bad impact to the entire "Cao Cao Zhuan" MOD circle, and also made the players and creators in the "Cao Cao Zhuan" MOD circle always have a certain degree of malice and suspicion towards mobile games.
However, recently, the MOD circle of "The Legend of Cao Cao" unexpectedly cooperated with Lingxi Interactive Entertainment's Three Kingdoms mobile game "Romance of the Three Kingdoms: War Chess Edition". Many authors joined the review activity of that mobile game, which surprised many people.
Therefore, this is an unexpected update of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Chess Edition". More than a year after its launch, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms: Chess Edition" has solemnly launched an independent game version, referred to as "Three Kingdoms Chess Competition Edition".
This version has many interesting aspects. In terms of business model, its core promotional point before it was launched was "completely free, downloadable and playable, no threshold, fast-paced confrontation of ten minutes a round". According to the official statement, you can't even find a "recharge entrance" in this game. It can be said to be a work that goes against the SLG category.
What’s even more interesting is that just like there is a "Teamfight Tactics" in "League of Legends" and "Tavern Chess" inserted into "Hearthstone", the "Three Kingdoms: Tavern Chess" has a completely different gameplay mode from the "Three Kingdoms: Tavern Chess Edition". Its gameplay mode is extremely pure, and it is a pure Tavern Chess PVP game in which all elements are tied to one game.
Using the IP of Koei's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", a classic turn-based chess game with the Three Kingdoms theme was created, which inevitably reminds people of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" series represented by "The Legend of Cao Cao". Taking this opportunity, Lingxi Interactive Entertainment also reached cooperation with many authors in the "The Legend of Cao Cao" MOD circle through this work.
But even so, "The Legend of Cao Cao" and "Three Chess Competitive Edition" still have quite a lot of interesting things to ponder. It makes people curious why the MOD circle of "The Legend of Cao Cao", which has always disliked mobile games, has changed its attitude. How "Three Chess Competitive Edition" plans to interpret the gameplay of war chess in the contemporary era, and how it plans to deal with the cooperative relationship with "The Legend of Cao Cao".
So we invited several members of the "Great Review Team", who are also players who have deep roots in "Cao Cao Biography", to chat about "Cao Cao Biography", the MOD circle, and the "Three Chess Competitive Edition".
These players are "Puluo", the developer of the MOD production tool for "The Legend of Cao Cao", "ZQ", the author of the famous MOD "The Legend of Lu Kang" for "The Legend of Cao Cao", and "Jiuyijun", the content creator of the MOD "The Legend of Cao Cao".
The conversation with several guests was quite pleasant, and I also learned a lot about the MOD circle and the secrets of their relationship with "Three Chess Competition Edition". Some authors wanted to establish contact with Koei Tecmo through this work to maintain the image of MOD authors; some authors almost thought it was another northern Myanmar scam when they received the invitation, and subconsciously covered their waists; and some authors were simply fooled by the official "Three Chess Competition Edition" "PVE", "Auto Chess", "Tower Defense", and even "Dou Dizhu" and other exaggerated gameplay promises.
In addition, there are many player stories that are quite interesting.

The following is a summary of the roundtable discussion. For your convenience, some content has been edited.
The origin of "The Biography of Cao Cao"
3DM: As an old game with a history of more than 20 years, "Cao Cao Zhuan" is still very popular among domestic players, with a group of die-hard fans and creators who work with love. As senior players of "Cao Cao Zhuan", what do you think is the feature of "Cao Cao Zhuan" that has attracted players so far? What do you think of the fact that "Cao Cao Zhuan" is still full of vitality?
Pro:Cao Cao Biography has a very classic war chess gameplay, and its core gameplay is substantial and self-consistent. At the same time, because the historical culture of the Three Kingdoms itself has a profound influence in China, the emergence of Cao Cao Biography can be said to have firmly grasped the hearts of many players who are interested in strategy games and the Three Kingdoms theme.
On the other hand, it is also influenced by the times. The popular MOBA and various real-time strategy games have a fast overall pace, which tests the player's hand speed and reaction ability, and will bring certain mental pressure to the player. The MOD of "Cao Cao's Biography" itself,I think it is the "ninth art" that combines visual novels and stand-up mystery. The overall pace is slow, which is suitable for leisure and entertainment and appreciating the plot. It can relieve the stress of working people, so some people are willing to get into it.
ZQ:This is mainly due to the support of enthusiasts, who have created a lot of high-quality MODs, which have given "Cao Cao Zhuan" endless content to play. In addition, although everyone is using new engines to develop MODs, the essence remains the same. These are still developed on the basis of the original "Cao Cao Zhuan", so the requirements for everyone's computer configuration are very low, so there is no threshold for playing, which is also the reason why everyone is willing to keep playing.
Production tools and MOD collection are the two most important posts in "Cao Cao Biography Bar"
3DM: In addition to "The Legend of Cao Cao", do you have any other favorite war chess games?
Pro:Most of the chess games I have come across are probably "pseudo-chess games". On the surface, they are in the form of chess, but in fact, they integrate many different systems, and the final gameplay is not just chess. The games I like are relatively pure chess games. For example, "For the King" and the "Fire Emblem" series recommended by my friends, and then the "Nobunaga's Ambition" series of Koei Tecmo and the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" series that have chess.
Jiuyijun:Nowadays, many games have incorporated elements of tactical chess, such as last year's Game of the Year "Baldur's Gate 3", which I personally like very much. As for pure tactical chess, I prefer "Triangle Strategy" and "The Legend of Heroes", which incorporates Jin Yong's martial arts novels, which I also like.
3DM: What if it is not another war chess game, but a MOD of "Cao Cao Biography"? Which one do you like more? Do you think which one is the most popular?
Pro:I think it's hard to choose the most popular one, because the "Cao Cao Biography" MOD has been around for 20 years, and every few years a phenomenal work is released, so it's hard to say which one is the most popular.
ZQ: How about you take a look at which author is present now?
Pro: Ah, if we talk about the MODs that are popular nowadays, ZQ teacher's "The Legend of Lu Kang" and some MODs made by his apprentices can indeed be regarded as one of them.
ZQ:You make me feel a little embarrassed.
Pro:It doesn’t matter. Now MOD has entered an era of flourishing, and "The Legend of Lu Kang" is indeed one of the better representatives.
However, looking back at the entire history, there are several MODs that are generally recognized as classics. "Wagangshan Yiwenlu" is the best in terms of comprehensiveness, with rich systems, exciting plots, and some special gameplay that is not available in other "Cao Cao Zhuan" engines.
Speaking of the plot alone, it should be "The Three Kingdoms: Biography of Jiang Wei". Its influence is obvious to all. Since its birth, many authors have been constantly transplanting this work, and fresh blood has been continuously injected.
As for the battlefield, there is no doubt that "Deluxe Edition of Cao Cao's Biography" has made high-dimensional innovations to the battlefield and carried out many kinds of gameplay innovations such as combat skills.
As for me personally, it is "The Legend of the Gods". I was quite young when I played it, and the many magical elements and novel systems in this MOD shocked me greatly and also gave me some inspiration.
"Wagangshan Strange Stories" has just finished a chapter recently
3DM: Ordinary players may rarely think of making MODs. So why did you, as players, come up with such an idea?
Pro:The basic templates provided by "Cao Cao Biography" are very good and very extensible. In the early years, "Cao Cao Biography" also had a fairly complete ecosystem. There were a large number of technical analysis posts and art public posts on Tianya Forum. Many predecessors have made a lot of easy-to-use tools.Players can realize the system, gameplay, and script they want at a very low cost.I was personally influenced by some MODs and developed a great admiration for technology, so I wanted to do more than just basic changes. Because I have some experience with assembly and some high-level languages, I can realize some big ideas, so now I have been working on tools and engines, hoping to benefit more authors.
ZQ:I was influenced by "The Legend of Jiang Wei in the Three Kingdoms" when I made the MOD. I played this MOD when I was in high school. I found it very interesting at the time. Both the plot and the gameplay made me unable to stop playing. Later, I saw the news that the author Ratchet announced that he would make a second generation of "The Legend of Wu", so I kept waiting. In the end, I never waited for "The Legend of Wu". In desperation, I could only use my relatively poor writing style to make a work with a similar theme to "The Legend of Wu", and this is the "The Legend of Lu Kang".
When I started making MOD, I actually knew nothing. I had no knowledge of production and no materials. Fortunately, I met many good friends who gave me a lot of selfless help so that this work could be successfully completed. Among them, Pro was a relatively important one.
3DM: What about Jiuyijun? Previously you were mostly doing self-media work for MOD dissemination, without much author attributes, but recently you seem to have started making MODs. Can you talk about what happened in between?
Jiuyijun:In fact, my decision was very simple. I really like "Wagangshan Yiwenlu". This MOD was updated every year at the beginning, but since 2020, they have stopped updating for 4 years. At that time, I was young and had just graduated. I had more time, so I wanted to make a MOD.
However, the threshold for making MODs was already very high at that time. At the beginning, the author of "Zhao Yun Zhuan" "Xiao Yuan Otto" - we called him "Yuan Shen" - threw me a production tool kit and asked me to explore it first to see if I had the perseverance and persistence to make MODs. When I saw the pile of tools, I was directly confused and couldn't understand them at all, so I didn't do it.
Later, I met Teacher ZQ, and this matter was pushed forward. Teacher ZQ sent me a detailed guide, teaching me how to do it step by step from the basics, including the advanced tutorials he slowly taught me, I did it little by little, and then I started to have a prototype. However, I may need to communicate more with Teacher ZQ in the future, because there are more and more bugs in that game.
Some MOD creation tools
3DM: During the long process from playing to making, everyone should have clearly felt the decline of war chess games in the current mainstream game market. Many new generation players have little understanding of "Cao Cao Biography". What do you think of these phenomena?
ZQ:Let alone "Cao Cao Biography", the entire chess and war genre is very niche. Those who like to play it will like it very much, and those who don't like it may not eat it even if you offer it to them. Today's society is relatively impetuous, and people may prefer pigeon or action games, such as "Hades", which was very popular a few years ago. This type of game may be more in line with the current players' playing habits. Games like chess and war that require a long time to play and think are more limited in time cost, so not many people will play them.
Jiuyijun:As an ancient game, it is difficult for current players to accept such a style and gameplay. In addition, now there are more and more choices and more and more games, so you have to have something new to attract players' attention.
3DM: However, in “The Biography of Cao Cao”, this phenomenon seems to be manifested differently?
ZQ: Yes, this is a rather strange thing. There are quite a few new generation players of the "Cao Cao Biography" MOD. For example, many players of "Lu Kang Biography" were born after 2000. Maybe the number of players born after 2000 is even greater than that of players born after 1980.
The process of becoming connected with "Three Chess Competition Edition"
3DM: What was your first reaction when you first received the invitation to the "Three Chess Competition Edition"?
Pro:I didn't think too much about it. After ruling out the possibility of it being a scam, I was quite surprised. I was mainly surprised that there was a company willing to work in such an unpopular category and to provide a platform for us authors to communicate with the outside world.
ZQ: My initial reaction was skeptical. I almost thought it was a fraud company that was planning to kidnap me to northern Myanmar and cut off my kidneys.Later, after getting Lingxi Interactive Entertainment's contact information through Jiuyijun, I communicated with them directly. They called me on a video call without saying a word and took me around their company. The company is very large and has many Three Kingdoms elements. I also learned that Lingxi Interactive Entertainment is a game company under Alibaba. Only then did I feel relieved and believe that they were not a scam. Then I gradually became excited and happy.
Jiuyijun:I was surprised and astonished at first, because I had no idea why they wanted me to develop a game based on "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Later, when I heard that it was the spiritual sequel to "The Legend of Cao Cao" and that it had the official authorization of Koei Tecmo, and they emphasized to me that it was fair competition and that it was completely free, I felt that there was something to it and I agreed right away.
In a private chat, ZQ also said that it reminded him of the previously popular movie "All or Nothing"
3DM: What were the considerations that made you accept the invitation from the official "Three Chess Competition Edition" and join the review team?
Pro:I have been working on engine development for the past few years, and I have run out of inspiration. Sometimes I want to refer to other games, but the problem is that war chess is not mainstream, and I don’t have too many reference objects. Later, I saw "Three Chess Competition Edition",I think it will be hard to see any big company willing to make such a game in the next few years, so I think this is a rare opportunity and want to see how this game type, which has been dormant for many years, will perform.
At the same time, I can also use this opportunity to establish a certain connection with the official Koei Tecmo, and have some communication and cooperation with them.We should maintain the "regular army" image of our MOD authors and not let outsiders always think that we are pirating and tampering with game materials. We hope to get official support and live a more glamorous life.
ZQ:At first, they talked to me about offline meetings and seminars, so that I could play new games and meet friends in the circle such as Pro and Jiuyijun offline, so I was very interested. In addition, Lingxi Interactive Entertainment is a large company, and it has released many large-scale Three Kingdoms-themed games before, which is also attractive to us workers in small towns, so I agreed.
Later, due to various reasons, the meeting and trial were changed to online, which was a bit regrettable, but it was not bad to be able to communicate happily with friends.
3DM: Previously, there have been many controversies in the "Cao Cao Biography" MOD circle due to the malicious charging of mobile games, which made everyone very sensitive to the terms "mobile games" and "paying money". If Lingxi Interactive Entertainment had not emphasized the promises of "completely free", "fair competition", and even "no recharge entrance" this time, everyone would not have accepted it so easily, right?
ZQ:As far as I know, only a small number of mobile game companies would purchase the copyright of the script from the author before making these contents, but most of them directly plagiarized without the author's consent. In the past ten years, the copyright awareness of both players and manufacturers in China has become stronger and stronger, and everyone can clearly feel that these people's practices are wrong. They do not have the official authorization of Koei Tecmo, and they do not have the authorization of private MOD authors. Basically, they have made a "three-no product". Then, they added a lot of krypton gold points to these mobile games, such as level locks and other disguised means of forcing players to krypton gold. This practice not only infringes on the rights and interests of the original author, but also affects the reputation of the MOD circle. It is quite disgusting to the authors in the circle. In a sense, I think this is also an illegal act.
Therefore, both players and authors in the circle are quite resistant to this so-called "cooperation" behavior.
Pro: So the reason why we accepted the invitation of "Three Chess Competition Edition" is because they promised "no krypton gold" and "pure war chess game". This also resolved the malice of some PC players towards mobile games.
To this day, there are still players posting in the "Cao Cao Legend Bar" asking for free MODs, which shows the bad influence of some manufacturers' behavior.
Discussion on "Three Chess Competition Edition"
3DM: As players in the review group, you should have experienced the game for some time. So in your opinion, how does the "Three Chess Competitive Edition" perform in terms of the "War Chess" gameplay?
Pro:The essence of war chess is basically reflected. It is a serious war chess game, with a suitable strategy system added, and the character design is also in line with historical characteristics. In addition, there is no messy training outside the game.It is relatively fair and also highlights the strategic characteristics of zero-sum game.
But there is a small problem. The numerical calculations in the game are a bit too complicated. Many players are not aware of this complex calculation. They often need to judge the next move based on the effect of the character hitting the opponent. The tactics system in the "Three Chess Competition Edition" has multiple numerical calculations such as various BUFFs and attacks and defenses. It is difficult for players to calculate every step carefully.
In addition, because it is an online confrontation, it is essential to join the time limit system. When I played, it was about ten seconds. This time is a bit too short. It is difficult for players to react. It is easy to cause players who can't calculate it to simply give up.It might be better to simplify this overly complex numerical system.
ZQ:The complex problems that Pro said do exist. Not only in the game process, but also before the game, the selection of generals, arms, and tactics is already very complicated. In addition, the difficulty of this version seems a bit high.I played two games myself, but I couldn't beat the computer. To be honest, I felt very upset.
Jiuyijun:So I think this game should have some official guides and beginner guides.
3DM: According to the official statement, the "Three Chess Competition Edition" borrows some series features from the "Three Kingdoms Heroes". Have you felt it during the game?
Pro:A lot of references have been made, and most of the overall gameplay uses the old settings of "Heroes of Legends", such as terrain, arms, restraint relationships, etc. However, these may also be the necessary factors for traditional chess games. Games like "Legend of the Three Kingdoms" and "Fire Emblem" all use this earliest large-map chess game template. It has a profound impact on subsequent chess gameplay, and "Three Chess Competition Edition" cannot avoid it.
3DM: Is there anything that you think is better than the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" series?
Pro:The tactics system of "Three Chess Competition Edition" is a system that is separated from the design framework of "Heroes of Legends". This should be from the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" series. The advantage of this system is that the character characteristics are well excavated. The characters in "Heroes of the West" do not have these "tactics", "cooperation" and "talents", resulting in little difference between each character. It is easy for people to feel that this is just an ordinary war chess with a Three Kingdoms skin, which makes people lack the sense of immersion when playing."Three Chess" has done a good job in this regard. It has absorbed the tactics system added to "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" since the 12th generation. On the other hand, it does not have too many complicated development systems, making the overall gameplay relatively simple.
Jiuyijun:First of all, the graphics are much better than the original "Heroes of Legends". Secondly, there are actually quite a lot of arms in "Heroes of Legends". There are an estimated 40 arms in "Cao Cao's Biography", and the "Three Chess Competition Edition" simplifies them into 4 arms: archers, cavalry, shield soldiers and spearmen. After optimizing many unnecessary arms, the game is easier to play.
3DM: Do you think that "Three Chess Competition Edition" can be regarded as the spiritual sequel of "Cao Cao Biography"? Can this work be accepted by the current "Cao Cao Biography" players?
Pro:The term "spiritual sequel" is a bit too broad, and it is not quite appropriate to say it is or is not. It may be for those players who like pure chess games and like the ability to start and stop the game at will, but it may not be for other types of players such as plot fans and mowing fans. Whether you can accept this work also depends on the player's attributes.
ZQ: It may not be considered a "spiritual sequel", it can only be said that there is a connection. It absorbs some characteristics of both the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" series and the "Heroes of Legends" series, and simplifies a lot of things. If I have to say it, it should be the "spiritual sequel" of the two.As for whether fans can accept it, I personally can’t comment. There will definitely be some people who like this game for various reasons, and there will also be some players who don’t want to play it at all.
Jiuyijun:After all, a considerable part of the gameplay is inherited from "Cao Cao Biography", I think it can be regarded as a "spiritual sequel". However, "Cao Cao Biography" players may not be able to accept it, because the intrigues from PVE to PVP are too different.
3DM: Who is your favorite general in "Three Chess Competition Edition"? Does "Three Chess Competition Edition" meet your requirements in terms of character design and historical restoration?
Pro: No Three Kingdoms game will treat the Five Tiger Generals unfairly.I like Zhao Yun and Guan Yu the most, because they were given to me at the beginning, they have a bond with me, and I have been using them all the time. Also, these two are very popular generals in China and basically have no weaknesses.
In terms of historical restoration, the tactics system makes everyone's characteristics more distinct, but some characters' tactics don't quite fit their names. Tactics with cool names are often just BUFF skills, which is a bit too limited to the framework of other games. I feel that we can continue to design according to the historical experience of each general, jumping out of this framework, such as Zhao Yun's "Seven Ins and Seven Outs" is a more interesting tactic.
ZQ: We have talked about this issue before. My favorite characters are Zhao Yun and Cao Cao.
3DM: Yes, you also told me that the reason you like Zhao Yun is that he has the same surname as you and his appearance is similar.
ZQ:Yes, this is true, but it is not just that. The reason why I like Zhao Yun is that no matter which Three Kingdoms work, Zhao Yun is always the "banner girl", and he always comes out to show off. Moreover, compared with "Records of the Three Kingdoms", I like "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" more, and Zhao Yun is a general who is portrayed quite perfectly in the romance. As for Cao Cao, there is no doubt that he is the representative figure of the Three Kingdoms, and his abilities in all aspects are top-notch.
As for historical restoration, I personally think it doesn't matter. It is not a good idea for games to excessively pursue historical restoration. History that is too realistic is very boring.
Jiuyijun:I like Zhao Yun, and Zhuge Liang for civil officials. Most of the tactics in the "Three Chess Competition Edition" are relatively faithful to history, but some are a little different from what I expected. For example, I don't like Zhao Yun's "Seven Ins and Seven Outs" very much. Its effect is that it allows you to ignore obstacles and reach any grid within the range. At the same time, there is a passive ability that if there are friendly troops around, the enemy cannot select Zhao Yun.I can understand that this design comes from the story of Zhang Fei covering Zhao Yun's retreat at Changbanpo, but this makes Zhao Yun seem like a character hiding behind his teammates and not brave enough.
3DM: You are all experienced MOD authors or players. If you can make a bold assumption, what kind of gameplay or settings do you think the "Three Chess Competition Edition" can further enhance the gaming experience after learning from the many MODs of "Cao Cao's Biography"?
Pro:There are not many references. There are many things in "Cao Cao Biography" that are linked to its training system and prop system, which are difficult to be compatible with the "Three Chess Competition Edition". But in terms of gameplay, I personally think that some secondary units can be added, such as tool soldiers, not too many, just one or two. There is no need to design complex values for this kind of secondary unit, and it can also act independently of the player according to the established command plan, so that it can help the player to block the position, or take on the role of a meat shield, etc., which can increase a lot of strategy.
In addition, there are some very fragmented things, such as banning generals, adding special maps, and adding some difficult historical battle PVE gameplay.
ZQ:Pro Ban/Pick's suggestion is very good. "Three Chess Competition Edition" is a competitive game, and the BP mechanism is necessary. In addition, I think there are too few types of soldiers in the game. The types of soldiers that some generals can use do not fit their settings, such as female generals and civil officials and counselors. Specific types of soldiers can be designed for them.
Jiuyijun:We can add cooperative elements, such as 2V2 mode, which can make the game have certain social attributes and make the fun of the game more possible. After all, doubles, triples and singles are completely different games, and the experience is also very different.
3DM: Relatively speaking, what do you like most about "Three Chess Competition Edition"? In addition to the evaluation, what kind of cooperation do you hope to have with the official in the future?
Pro: The gameplay is simple, which is a big advantage. Many games nowadays like to add, but "Three Chess Competition Edition" does a very appropriate subtraction.Instead of creating redundant gameplay, we unraveled the mystery and refined a set of confrontational gameplay that requires no training, no internal affairs, and emphasizes zero-sum game. This makes the entire game relatively simple and clean, and the playing experience is also very enjoyable.
I hope there will be more offline opportunities in the future for further communication and testing with the official. I want to learn from the official some design and development experience of pure war chess games, and exchange research on player preferences and gameplay guidance.
ZQ:I like the pre-battle configuration part the most. It's the same reason why I like "Cao Cao Biography". When I play "Cao Cao Biography", I will also spend a lot of time adjusting the generals before the battle.I like the feeling of deploying troops. The "Three Chess Competitive Edition" provides many different options in this regard, including generals, arms, tactics, etc. There are also some very user-friendly settings, such as the ability to store different team configurations and then play with one click.
In terms of cooperation, like Pro, I hope to have more offline cooperation, so that I can meet with friends and also get in touch with Glory.
Jiuyijun:What I like most about "Three Kingdoms Competition Edition" is the painting style. It inherits the illustrations of Koei's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", which looks very pleasing to the eye. The gameplay is also relatively concise, condensing some of the more classic gameplay of war chess. In terms of cooperation, I also look forward to offline activities. After all, it is more convenient to discuss things offline, and there is a better atmosphere.
3DM: Do you think that "Three Chess Competition Edition" can enhance the influence of current chess games? What do you want to say to all the fans and players about this work?
Pro: Gameplay will not be the most important factor that determines whether a game will be liked by players.War chess will not completely lose players just because it is unpopular. It mainly depends on the quality and design of the game itself.
To some extent, the "Three Chess Competitive Edition" has allowed the gameplay that our small circle advocates to see the light of day again. I hope that everyone will not have preconceived ideas just because it is a mobile game. There are still some designs in it that are worth learning from.
Hopefully all of these old wargames can continue to thrive together.
Jiuyijun:It can still be improved. After all, it is a game that focuses on war chess. It has both feelings and gameplay. I also hope that fans can play it in person and then evaluate whether this game is good or bad.
ZQ:Since it has the official authorization from Koei Tecmo, it will definitely be improved, but it is hard to say how much it can be improved. It depends on the subsequent quality control and operation of this game.
What I want to say to our fans and players is that everything we talked about in this interview is real. If you are interested, you can give it a try. The "Three Chess Competitive Edition" is completely free and open to the public. It has a low entry level and does not limit the player's experience. Even those who have never played war chess can give it a try.
3DM: When Teacher ZQ talks about this topic, it really sounds more and more like a TV shopping guide.
Conclusion
The conversation with several guests lasted for nearly two hours. During this process, we talked a lot about "Cao Cao Biography", the MOD circle, and "Three Chess Competitive Edition". The experiences of the MOD authors and some past events in the "Cao Cao Biography" MOD circle were quite surprising and impressive. The comments of several guests on "Three Chess Competitive Edition" were also quite pertinent overall.
After this conversation, we will soon be launching the "undeleted internal beta" of the "Three Kingdoms chess competition version". As a pure Three Kingdoms chess game that has not appeared on the market for a long time, interested players may wish to go to major download channels to try it out after the test starts on August 9.
This roundtable meeting ends here. Thank you everyone.
