On August 8, as the "Wheel Rolling Team" won the last point, the "Limit-Free Machine" Pioneer Anchor Invitational Tournament, which lasted for nearly a week, came to an end. Entertainment anchors, former professional players, and even commentators contributed one exciting battle after another.
However, the "Limited Machine" event for players has not ended, but has just begun.
Although there is an anchor competition in this pioneer test, it does not mean that only anchors can play in advance. The official B station channel has been broadcasting continuously for several days since the 3rd. As long as you click in and hang out for five minutes, you can get the qualification code. On August 10th, it will be fully opened. No activation code is required. You can start playing as long as you sign up, so that every player who has been looking forward to "Limited Machine" for a long time, or even just passing by, can enjoy the fun of mecha battles.
As the number of players increases, the community atmosphere naturally becomes lively. Now, after a week, various videos of unlocking the restricted machines have "grown" all over the Internet. In the community, players even spontaneously created emoticons because of the "outstanding performance" of certain machines.
Such a lively situation makes people ask, "Where the hell are you? Is this still the mecha track I know, full of model guys and with little noise?"
The collision of steel
To achieve such a positive response, the company certainly relied on more than just auxiliary means such as publicity and promotion.
As the saying goes, a blacksmith must have strong tools himself. One of the key reasons why "Limit-free Machine" can attract a large number of players is that it is "strong" enough. The "strong" here is not a metaphor, but an objective description of the machine design of "Limit-free Machine".
The smooth mechanical lines outline the huge contours of the "Limit-Removing Machines", and the metal outer armor reflects a captivatingly cold light. These mechas are the absolute protagonists, and the effort Xishanju has spent on them is visible to the naked eye. This pioneer test presents a more mature design to all players.
Under the solid outer armor, the delicate internal structure connects the overall structure of the body. Through the perspective of color-coded paint, we can clearly see the operating logic of each layer of the structure, and every weapon, every skill, and every mobile nozzle will be faithfully reflected in this seemingly complex mecha.
You will find that in addition to being simply "cool", the Jiexianji appropriately provides a more advanced texture. This texture makes each mecha more like a whole, a war machine that can truly withstand artillery fire and collisions, rather than a model whose parts may fall off at any time.
It is "fantasy" enough. Influenced by Gundam, the upright bipedal humanoid machine itself is a representative of fantasy mecha. At the same time, it has a proper "hard core". The exposed transmission structure is clearly visible. The overall dynamics of the mecha when it moves give it a solid sense of standing in the gap between fantasy and reality, but not too eye-catching.
To be honest, this is the first time I have seen such a self-consistent design in a domestic mecha game. Just relying on this high-level texture portrayal, we can easily imagine the roar and sparks that will be generated by the fight and collision between two mechas when they meet on the battlefield.
In terms of handling, the car did not disappoint the imagination and expectations, and showed a sophistication that was worthy of its toughness.
With the coordination of sound and visual effects, the movements of the mecha in the hands of the player appear very heavy. Every charge, emergency stop, turn, take-off, landing, or even just strolling on the ground, you can feel the need to mobilize the joints of the whole body when the mecha moves. Even the sparks produced by the friction of the feet across the ground are clearly visible, which provides a very wonderful experience, as if if you don't press the keyboard effortlessly, this behemoth will not maneuver with high effort.
At the same time, the different positioning and weapon combinations of various limit-breaking machines make the feel of each mecha distinctly different. For example, the Gyrfalcon, which is a light attack machine, feels light and free from gravity. Although it also has aerial maneuvers, the super-heavy Triceratops can clearly feel the heavy pressure of the armor on its body when playing.
As for my favorite machine in this test, the Field Medic Binaca, it well embodies the operational feel of a close combat support machine. Its repairs that require it to stay close to friendly forces, coupled with its defensive and counterattack-focused skill set such as airdrop shelters, make it very suitable for positional warfare, which makes it completely different from its previous support machine counterpart "Luminar", which was elegant and flexible to play.
Of course, the other models not mentioned above also have their own completely different feel. It can be said that the current 13 machines provide 13 completely different experiences. When the energy spent on the above machines is truly invested in the game, we can see the true appearance of this carefully prepared mecha feast.
"Limitless Machine" has many kinds of gameplay with different rhythms and funs, such as the Observatory, Shipyard, Sky City, from capturing points and flags to cart deathmatches. They have carefully arranged various scenes so that various machines can give full play to their strengths. In the cart-pushing maps with frequent street fighting, the "Dinosaur Family" cooperates with the field medic to stand alone, and under the vast sky of capturing flags and points, machines such as the Black Panther and the Gorilla can also shine.
Without exception, the maps for each gameplay mode are all-round battlefields from the ground to the air, with bullets and lasers flying all over the sky, and enemy and friendly machines jumping up and down, all making me feel as if I were in a real future mecha battlefield.
From the cold mechanical prompt sound broadcast to the dashboard UI that will fail due to interference, the limit-release machine has created a fully immersive gaming experience. Even the sparks and warnings when being shot down are very refreshing. In such an atmosphere, winning or losing is not so important. Just like in this Pioneer test, the playing style of many players is to completely ignore the map mechanism and only care about "fighting, fun".
While playing "Limited Machine", it seems that I no longer hold a mouse and keyboard in my hands, and the screen in front of me is no longer a display screen. Instead, I am actually sitting inside a mecha, holding a joystick, and becoming a real driver. At this time, I have only one goal, which is to examine and observe the battlefield through the "eyes" of the mecha, so as to select a good opponent for a hearty "collision", a collision between mecha and artillery that is enough to tear the sky apart.
Sincere invitation
It has to be said that the path chosen by "Limited Edition" is not particularly "hardcore". It can even be said that it does not have the cold and hard temperament shown by FS in "AC6". On the contrary, it shows a more lively attitude.
This is also a kind of "alternative approach". While satisfying hardcore mecha enthusiasts, it lowers the threshold of the mecha category to the greatest extent, allowing every player to enjoy the fun of mecha combat. Even many hardcore enthusiasts don't really care about the driver aspect, but they have come up with very pleasing designs.
This is undoubtedly a way to quickly expand the audience, and the purpose behind it is self-evident. Just like the code name of this test, "Pioneer", "Limitless Machine" wants to become a pioneer in the mecha category.
However, this is not easy at a time when the domestic mecha category has disappeared for a long time, the circle of core audiences is getting smaller and smaller, and players' requirements for works are getting higher and higher.
What's more, "Jiexianji" is not yet perfect. Problems such as poor optimization and unbalanced body still exist. However, Xishanju still brought the imperfect "Jiexianji" to everyone. This is not only a kind of self-confidence, but also the enthusiasm they convey to the players. It is this enthusiasm that makes me willing to believe that "Jiexianji" has the strength to lead the mecha track.
This pioneer test of "Recruiting Talents" is more like a report on the results, not only to the players but also to themselves, rather than a routine promotion before the server launch.
Xishanju can’t wait to share the “Mecha Dream” that already has enough weight in its hands, as if to say:
"This is a cool mecha battle. We finally made it. Come and see it!"
The sparks created by the collision of steel on the screen not only represent the technology and hard work invested by the production team, but also represent their passion for domestic mecha warfare. This passion is just as they wished, and will soon bloom into a "steel flower" on the Internet through "Jiexian Ji", the only domestic mecha seedling.
After playing the test of "Limit-free Machine", I seemed to hear Xishanju's sincere invitation:
"My fellow mecha fans, I have made our fantasy mecha war into a game. Don't you want to play it?"
"Dear players passing by, don't you want to experience the so-called romance of men and the charm of mecha?"
