the daxing airport line is designed to run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. in order to reduce tunnel clearance and construction costs, the line uses a rigid contact network for power supply. however, the use of a rigid contact network on such a high-speed line is the first practice in the domestic rail transit field.

in the busy and complex operation network of the subway, the stability of the contact network is crucial to ensuring the safety, punctuality and efficient operation of trains.to ensure the safety of the contact network, the daxing airport line innovatively introduced the power supply safety detection and monitoring system (6c system), which is relatively mature in the railway system, into the subway field.infrared and ultraviolet sensors and video surveillance equipment are installed on a subway train in normal operation on the daxing airport line. during normal operation of the train, the video surveillance will automatically take a high-definition photo every 8 meters, and the suspension status of the contact network and the looseness of the bolts can be easily obtained, providing basic analysis parameters for the operation status of the contact network.

"if we check all the positions of the line manually, it would take a year. with this system, the image data can be collected after one train trip. after 20 days of sorting, the fault points along the line can be summarized, and the maintenance personnel will carry out targeted maintenance based on these data." qiao mei, the chief engineer of the contact network maintenance of beijing capital railway operation company, introduced that using ordinary trains for inspection can also improve the targetedness of the inspection. "for example, when the contact network is arcing, the maintenance personnel can only judge by observing whether there are pitting on the contact network, but manual observation cannot determine when the arcing occurs.now, we can use infrared and ultraviolet sensors to analyze the duration of arcing, and accurately determine whether maintenance is needed based on positioning information, which reduces operation and maintenance costs and makes subway contact network maintenance more efficient."

electronic workshop realizes independent maintenance of various equipment

inside the cigezhuang depot on the daxing airport line, there is also an electronics workshop that can independently repair various types of equipment. in front of the workstation, engineers are inspecting and repairing various types of disassembled equipment with screwdrivers, soldering irons and voltmeters in their hands.

as time goes by, some parts of the daxing airport line have been discontinued. in order to solve the usage problems, the company's employees personally repair the equipment here, comprehensively improve their independent maintenance capabilities, reduce maintenance costs, and achieve multiple uses of various equipment to extend their service life.

zhang xiaojie, maintenance manager of the electronics workshop of beijing capital railway operation company, introduced that the electronics workshop is responsible for the maintenance of electronic and electromechanical equipment on the lines under its jurisdiction. the maintenance equipment covers various professions such as communications, signals, vehicles, electromechanical, and power supply.

the reporter noticed that an electronic map screen originally installed above the door was placed on a workstation in the electronics workshop. with the press of a button, the map screen would simulate the train's arrival information. "after the decoder board of the electronic map screen was discontinued, we began to repair it ourselves, which not only ensured the normal use of the equipment, but also reduced the maintenance cost." zhang xiaojie told reporters that in order to test the maintenance effect of the electronic map screen, the engineers built a set of on-board environment in the electronics workshop.every repaired electronic map screen will be tested in the electronics workshop to ensure that the equipment can operate normally before being sent to the train for installation, reducing the occurrence of rework.

the electronics factory established an innovation studio in 2020 and was awarded the "beijing municipal innovation studio" in 2024. it has carried out 4 scientific research projects, launched 21 design, development and testing platforms, and obtained 2 invention patents and 12 utility model patents. at present, the electronics factory can repair more than 3,000 pieces of equipment for the daxing airport line every year.

realize fully automatic operation mode with manned operation

according to statistics, in the past five years, beijing metro has completed the construction of 20 lines (sections) totaling 199.2 kilometers of track, including the west section of line 11, the north section of line 17, and line 19. in particular, 9 lines (sections) were opened at one time in 2021, setting a record for the number of lines opened in history.
