recently, lin jie, senior vice president of geely auto group and general manager of lynk & co., ltd., was interviewed by several media including the securities times. lin jie said that the launch of z10 has important historical significance for lynk & co.

"in the current pure electric vehicle market, competition is fierce in almost every segment. but based on the data, the absolute sales volume of c-class pure electric vehicles is not very large, and the market is showing a rapid growth trend." lin jie revealed that based on such market observations, lynk & co launched the pure electric sedan positioned in the c-class.

lin jie said that this is not the first sedan built by lynk & co. previously, lynk & co has built the a-class fuel car 03, the b-class hybrid car 07em-p, and the c-class pure electric z10. lynk & co has achieved a product layout at different levels and with different energy methods, including a, b, and c.

lin jie further explained that lynk & co will make multiple considerations when creating products, focusing on user needs and future market expectations. therefore, the z10 was also born under the expectations of users.

"it is not surprising for lynk & co to make pure electric vehicles. we have conducted a lot of user surveys, and the results show that 60% of lynk & co users are looking forward to lynk & co pure electric vehicles, and 40% of existing replacement users will choose pure electric vehicles." lin jie said that if lynk & co does not make pure electric products, it is tantamount to giving up this part of the market and users. at the same time, lynk & co is not a single energy brand, but aims to build a full brand of models for the global market.

it is reported that the reason why z10 was able to be successfully and quickly launched into the market is mainly due to geely's technical reserves in the field of new energy vehicles. it is reported that lynk & co z10 is built on the latest generation of haohan architecture, equipped with an 800v dual silicon carbide high-performance electric drive system, with dual-motor four-wheel drive, providing 810n.m peak torque, 0-100 acceleration can reach 3.5 seconds, and the maximum speed exceeds 250km/h.

"the significance of the architecture platform is to build more vehicle models based on the same architecture. the more models produced, the more beneficial it is to the technology distribution of the architecture platform, the lower the overall cost and the higher the efficiency." when talking about how much profit margin lynk & co will have in building pure electric vehicles, lin jie said frankly that lynk & co will not do business at a loss.

in his opinion, the automotive industry is an industry that emphasizes scale effect. without scale, there is no profit. based on this, lynk & co is not paying much attention to the profit contribution of z10 at present, but is more concerned about its satisfaction of user needs. "i believe that as the scale expands, z10 will definitely bring profits in the long run," said lin jie.

lin jie said that lynk & co's creation of pure electric vehicles does not mean a direct switch to the pure electric track. in future product planning, lynk & co will still pursue full-category development and carry out targeted development, such as suvs are more suitable for plug-in hybrid power, and sedans are more suitable for pure electric.

regarding the future sales target, lin jie said that lynk & co is not starting from scratch in making pure electric products. the company already has millions of users. to allow users to choose the products they like, good product strength is required, and brand strength is built on product strength. therefore, lynk & co will not pursue an absolute sales target, but hopes that the z10 can become one of the top three in the c-class pure electric market segment.

regarding the topic of how lynk & co handles its competitive relationship with zeekr, lin jie also gave a frank response. lin jie said that lynk & co and other brands under the group need to cooperate.

"we use the same structure and build products with the same concept, but our brand positioning is different, the product styling is different, and we attract different users." in this regard, lin jie made a vivid analogy. even if the chefs use the same ingredients, the taste of the dishes they make will be different. some cook cantonese cuisine, some cook sichuan cuisine. everyone serves different customer groups, so we cannot engage in simple homogeneous competition.

lin jie emphasized that we hope to form differentiated synergy with the zeekr brand and jointly expand the pure electric market. in addition, lin jie also revealed that lynk & co will hold a press conference overseas in october, and lynk & co's second pure electric vehicle will be launched overseas first, named z20 in china and 02 in europe.
