more than 2,000 graduates attended the event, and the online double-selection fair will continue until the end of the month
the reporter saw that the job fair was very lively. there were students from beijing university of science and technology and students from related majors in surrounding universities who were looking for jobs with resumes. xiao zhang is a second-year graduate student majoring in electronic information at minzu university of china. his major is suitable for this job fair, so he came to the scene with his resume. "i have sent out six or seven resumes now. compared with submitting online, i can communicate with companies more directly about the issues i care about, such as the work location, the staffing situation of the position, and the number of written tests and interviews," said xiao zhang.
according to preliminary statistics, this job fair attracted more than 2,000 graduates from 62 universities including university of science and technology beijing, beijing information science and technology university, north china university of technology, beijing institute of technology, beijing university of posts and telecommunications, etc., and the participating employers received a total of 5,199 resumes. in terms of educational level, doctoral students accounted for 2%, master's students accounted for 64%, undergraduates accounted for 33%, and higher vocational/college graduates accounted for 1%. at this job fair, about 674 people reached preliminary intentions.
"holding this job fair, on the one hand, is to promote high-quality and full employment for young people, mainly college graduates. on the other hand, network security is very important. this job fair focuses on the field of network security. we also hope to provide more high-level talents for this field, helping the capital to build a highland of network security talents and promote the construction of a cyber power." kuang xiaozhen, director of the beijing university student employment and entrepreneurship guidance center, told reporters.
in addition to offline job fairs, job fairs and recruitment fairs related to the cybersecurity field will also continue to be held online. from 9:00 on september 13 to 17:00 on september 30, this job fair will be held online. graduates with relevant job-seeking intentions can log in to the beijing university student employment and entrepreneurship information network to submit their resumes online.
in addition, the "intelligent capital·job network security" network security industry online job fair was held on the "boss direct hiring" platform from september 4 to 18. the job fair brought together more than 2,000 companies and released more than 9,000 recruitment positions, providing a wider range of employment options for the majority of college graduates.
can't find the right job? college career guidance teachers give advice
the reporter noticed that this job fair provided career guidance services. career guidance teachers from many universities came to the scene to provide job seekers with career planning, employment guidance, resume diagnosis and other services.
hu linru, deputy director of the student employment guidance center and director of the career teaching and research office at the university of science and technology beijing, told reporters that the common problem faced by students who come for consultation is that they don't know what their target job is, nor do they know how to match their experience with the requirements of the company's recruitment positions.
"nowadays, many students determine their career direction through information on the internet. however, the information they obtain is quite fragmented, and the students' current knowledge reserves make it difficult to organize the fragmented information and position themselves in a targeted manner," hu linru analyzed.
she suggested that graduates should first combine their personal abilities and areas of interest to understand the positions that their seniors have taken, and roughly lock in some positions. when there are on-site recruitment activities, make full use of the opportunity to communicate with the company more, understand the specific responsibilities and recruitment requirements of the locked positions, and thus efficiently explore market information. "it is best to reach an intention at the recruitment event. if not, you should review it after the recruitment event to find your personal position more accurately, so that you will have more direction and goals when submitting your resume next time."
at the same time, according to hu linru's observation, many students may "flock" to certain employers and positions. she believes that it is more important to find a suitable one than a popular unit or position. "if students can find a track based on their own positioning, they can find the right position, and companies can also recruit suitable talents, which will help to achieve a balance between supply and demand."
reporters found that it has become the norm to provide employment guidance services at recruitment events. "on-site employment guidance is more targeted and efficient," said hu linru. after a job seeker tries several companies on-site and fails to find a job, he or she will seek help. after understanding the situation, the career guidance teacher can point out the problems that the job seeker has in the process of communicating with the company, help him or her review and optimize, and the job seeker can try to communicate with the company again on-site. the career guidance teacher can also diagnose the job seeker's resume, so that the job seeker can improve the resume efficiently.
