last week, together with professor wang meng, we attendednational youth creative conference,

let me share my speech today.

dear mr. wang meng, respected leaders, dear young writers and friends:

it is a great honor to attend this meeting today.

in recent years, as i get older, i often have"lie flat"i have a desire to take advantage of my seniority today, but after listening to professor wang meng’s speech just now, i feel very ashamed.

teacher wang meng is 21 years older than me, but his spirit, his fighting spirit, his creative energy, his learning ability and his ongoing passion for life set an example for us.

even though it is far from reach, we should still try our best to follow.

the meeting will be over soon. i will not take the bus but run home. i will not sleep tonight but write overnight. i will not rest tomorrow but go to school to meet with students and exchange my experience of participating in the youth entrepreneurship conference.

i will work hard to learn from senior writers and forget my age; i will work hard to learn from young writers.learn your sensitive discovery and novel expression of new quality of life,strive to do more meaningful things for the motherland and the people.

i had a dream a while ago. i dreamed that musk came to china to recruit the first batch of volunteers to immigrate to mars. i didn't hesitate and signed up immediately.

they notified me to go for an interview, and the person who interviewed me turned out to be my elementary school teacher.

she asked me, "why do you want to go to mars?" i said, "because i've never been there." she then asked, "after you go there, do you want to come back?" i said, "of course i want to come back if i can, but it's ok if i can't."

she asked me again: "what do you want to do when you get there?" i said: "i want to write novels." she said: "we have already hired two novelists, what else can you write?" i said: "i am learning to write scripts." she said: "we are in need of a scriptwriter, and you are accepted."

then the teacher asked, "what did you write about when you got to mars?" i said, "i still wrote about earth."

even though i am writing on mars, and even though the environment around me has changed dramatically, i am still writing about life on earth, or rather, my memories of life on earth.

what i write about is the chinese history that i am familiar with, china's reality, the civilization created by the chinese people over thousands of years, the great struggle of the chinese people, all the miracles created by the chinese people on this land, and the batches of heroes and people with lofty ideals who have emerged over thousands of years, as well as all kinds of vivid and colorful characters.

my thoughts came from the bottom of my heart and came out without any hesitation.

although the living environment is mars, and everything is different from before, mylife accumulation cannot be changed, i am a chinese on earth, this is the most fundamental nature and will not change.

of course, writing about life on earth on mars, this brand-new perspective will definitely have a profound impact on writing and will definitely give literature a new quality.

so even though this dream is unreal, i think it still has positive significance.

it shows that even though i am nearly 70 years old, i still hope to keep pace with the times and still maintain a strong interest in new things from the outside world.

i think this is a characteristic of the "old people" of our time.

friends, we are living in an era that is changing with each passing day, an era in which human intelligence is constantly advancing and human knowledge is constantly being updated.

such an era provides very favorable conditions for our study, allowing everyone to know astronomy and geography, and allowing everyone to take root in the earth and look at the world.

such an era determines that the literature of this era is different from the literature created by previous generations.every era has its own writers, and every era has its own literature.

therefore, in order to reflect this era accurately, multi-facetedly and colorfully, it requires the joint efforts of writers of all ages.

we have our perspective, and young people have their perspective.through our joint efforts, we can record the changes in human life in the present and even foresee the future, so that literature can not only reflect life, but even change life in a certain sense.

our current life is full of new qualities. we must immerse ourselves in this new quality of life, embrace this new quality of life, discover the impact of this new quality of life on people's emotions and behaviors, and use new artistic means and aesthetic concepts to create new literary and artistic works and artistic images.

in addition to learning from life, we must also learn from history and all civilizations created by mankind. the literary classics created by writers from ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad, are our role models. we should use this as a standard to demand ourselves and innovate on the basis of learning from the classics.

i would like to thank the organizers for inviting me to this conference. this provides me with an opportunity to learn from young writers. i feel that your youthful energy is constantly being instilled into me. i hope that in the future, if any of the young writers here really go to mars to write, i hope that when you pick up your pen, you will remember my speech today.
