the seats of air china's c919 aircraft are spaced farther apart, and the aisles are wider than those of ordinary narrow-body aircraft. air china's c919 aircraft has a total of 158 seats, including 8 business class seats with a spacing of 40 inches, 150 economy class seats with a spacing of 30-31 inches, and the spacing of emergency exit seats reaches 45 inches.

compared with other airlines' 164-seat layout, air china has reduced one row of economy class seats, so the seat pitch in each row has increased by 2 inches, which is better than the seat pitch of similar foreign aircraft.

air china introduced the extended-range (er) c919, and is the only one of the three major airlines to choose this sub-model. compared with the basic model, the c919 extended-range has a larger maximum take-off weight (78.9 tons) and engine thrust (30,000 pounds), and a longer range. the full-load flight distance is 2,000 nautical miles, an increase of 700 nautical miles over the basic model, and the maximum range is 5 hours, an increase of 1.7 hours over the basic model, which has better market applicability.

the c919 extended-range version is equipped with two leap-1c30 engines, which have completely interchangeable life parts and blades (including rotor blades and stationary blades) with the leap-1a (a320neo series) engines, helping to improve the economy of the aircraft.

"our domestic large aircraft c919 is a very excellent model. it has reached a very high level in terms of design and performance, as well as in terms of control feel and human-machine interaction. we must fly out of the brand and fly out of benefits to ensure that domestic large aircraft soar smoothly in the blue sky of the motherland."

wang yukun, deputy squadron leader of the 1st squadron of the 7th brigade of air china flight corps, said in an interview, "air china's c919 is a new aircraft model. we must not only master the operating skills, but also have a deep understanding of its principles and the knowledge behind it. during the theoretical learning stage, in order to fully grasp the knowledge learned during the day, we used the comac smart learning center to review independently at night. everyone raced against time and rushed to enter the systematic learning. everyone successfully completed the c919 model modification task with excellent results."

c919 operation support plan released

as early as november 2010, avic group signed the c919 launch user agreement with comac; when c919 obtained the type certificate issued by the civil aviation administration of china in september 2022, avic group immediately coordinated with comac to introduce the aircraft.

on january 12, 2023, avic group organized a kick-off meeting for the operational preparations for the c919 aircraft; half a month later, avic group and comac held an operational preparation coordination meeting and established four professional coordination groups for aircraft maintenance, personnel training, ground support, and operational control.

in march 2023, the maintenance engineering department and ameco began to compile the company manual. in april 2023, the operation control center held a c919 aircraft operation preparation kick-off meeting to clarify the main work content and work promotion mechanism. in may 2023, the first batch of flight theory seed instructors from the training department went to shanghai to start learning, the first batch of maintenance personnel completed aircraft model training, and the ground service department began to sort out the support capabilities of existing ground support equipment.

on july 22, 2023, the c919 operation support working group of avic group, consisting of 24 member units, was formally established. after more than 20 rounds of revisions, the operation control center officially launched the "c919 operation support plan", forming a one-stop plan from flight scheduling to aircraft inspection by maintenance personnel, to consultation the night before the flight, dispatch release and monitoring on the day of the flight, until the aircraft lands and enters the port.

in terms of operation control, the operation control center has completed the operation preparation work covering 32 tasks in 6 categories, including manual material preparation, performance data preparation, operation system preparation, and dispatcher qualification training.



in terms of air support, air china flight corps officially formed the seventh squadron, the c919 flight squadron, on may 21; the first batch of 10 c919 pilots completed the conversion training on july 29, and were awarded the "excellent theoretical team" with the highest average score of all companies in theoretical scores, and all members passed the simulator assessment organized by the civil aviation administration with excellent results and successfully obtained the c919 pilot license. the 84 aviation safety officers and 126 flight attendants in the first aircraft operation reserve completed the training on july 5 and july 18 respectively.

in terms of ground support, as of may, 548 flight dispatchers have completed training and are qualified to control the operation of c919; as of july, nearly 1,200 ground service personnel have completed training on new aircraft types and can support c919 in positions such as baggage loading and unloading, special vehicle operation, and loading. air china's ground service department and other relevant departments have visited daxing airport and comac for many times to investigate and study the differences between c919 and other aircraft types in the ground support process, sort out service quality risk control and operation service standards, successfully complete the ground simulation operation test of comac c919, and formulate the "apron support manual".

maintenance and repair to achieve 4a-level scheduled inspection and maintenance capabilities. on june 14, the auditors of the maintenance and airworthiness department of the civil aviation administration of china north china came to the ameco hangar to conduct a comprehensive review of ameco's c919 maintenance and support capabilities. from the manual system to the factory facilities and tooling equipment, from the qualifications of personnel to technical capabilities, man-machine-material-method-environment, one review after another, step by step inspection, comprehensively inspected ameco's maintenance capacity building. half a month later, good news came that ameco north china route center passed the review of the bureau at one time and was officially approved for the beijing location route maintenance license and 4a-level scheduled inspection and maintenance capabilities. immediately afterwards, ameco southwest route center, hangzhou branch, shanghai branch, and xi'an terminal also established c919 route maintenance capabilities.

cabin service has developed an exclusive service plan. beijing youth daily reporters learned that the "c919 service field security work list" has completed the design plan for the exclusive logo of c919 onboard products, determined the list of c919 exclusive aircraft supplies and released the implementation plan; china wings company has completed the formulation of the aircraft supplies and meal installation plan, and the first flight meal has been designed and prepared; china aviation media has completed the design and production of the "safety instructions" card, and the "safety instructions" video, c919 exclusive air expo program, and exclusive welcome speech have been finalized.

comac c919 large passenger aircraft

the c919 large passenger aircraft is a medium- and short-range narrow-body passenger aircraft/single-aisle trunk aircraft independently developed by my country with independent intellectual property rights. it is 38.9 meters long, 35.8 meters wide, and 11.95 meters high. it can carry 158-192 passengers and has a range of 4075-5555 kilometers, which can meet the operating needs of airlines on different routes.

the c919 large passenger aircraft project was approved in 2007 and development began in 2008. the first aircraft rolled off the assembly line on november 2, 2015. on may 5, 2017, the first aircraft made its maiden flight at shanghai pudong international airport. on september 29, 2022, it was awarded the type certificate by the civil aviation administration of china, and on november 29, it obtained the production license. on december 9, it was delivered to the first user. it will be put into commercial operation on may 28, 2023, officially entering the civil aviation market.
