Red Net Time News August 19th(Reporter Liu Xiaobei) Recently, CCTV News Channel's "News Live Room" reported a landmark event in which a complete set of heavy-haul railway intelligent driving technologies were applied in batches on the Shenshuo Railway. Two "Guoneng" 12-axle locomotives jointly developed by the National Energy Baoshen Railway Group, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., and CRRC Zhuzhou Institute pulled a 108-carriage heavy-haul intelligent train with a capacity of over 10,000 tons, departing from the Zhugaita Station of the National Energy Baoshen Railway Group and finally arriving at the Huanghua Port Station in Hebei. This locomotive also achieved the "first in the country" in many intelligent driving technologies.
The "Guoneng" 12-axle electric locomotive equipped with intelligent driving technology is running in the Shenchi South to Nanpodi section of the Baoshen Railway.
The Shenshuo Railway is a national Class I double-track electrified heavy-duty railway and a major channel for transporting coal from the west to the east. The minimum turning radius of this railway is only 400 meters, the maximum slope of the line is 12‰, the slope is steep and the curve is sharp, the transportation line environment is complex, the train operation is difficult, and the shunting and mainline train operations all rely on manual driving and protection.
The "Guoneng" 12-axle locomotive has a single-unit traction power of 14,400 kilowatts, a traction force of 1,140 kilonewtons, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h. It is equipped with a data-driven heavy-duty locomotive intelligent system that integrates intelligent driving technology, intelligent operation and maintenance system, and intelligent diagnosis technology.
To ensure safe driving, Guoneng Baoshen Railway Group, in collaboration with CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. and CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, overcame four major challenges of geography, routes, climate and long slopes, achieved the systematic and mass application of intelligent driving technology results, and successfully developed key sub-components including heavy-duty locomotive automatic driving systems, locomotive obstacle detection systems, ground remote monitoring and control systems, monitoring and deployment, etc., achieving a number of key technological innovations and "my country's first".
For the first time, the spectrum of electric locomotives from 8-axle, 12-axle to 24-axle has been realized. In the past, it took 6 crew members to operate a 10,000-ton train with three 8-axle locomotives. After the application of intelligent driving technology, it only takes 2 crew members to operate a 10,000-ton train with two Guoneng 12-axle locomotives, and only 1 person to operate a 10,000-ton train with one Guoneng 24-axle locomotive. The transportation efficiency is continuously improved and the labor intensity is greatly reduced.
For the first time, automatic shunting operations based on Beidou's high-precision positioning, signals and foreign object detection and protection were realized, with positioning accuracy at the centimeter level, achieving high-precision positioning of trains in stations and sections. The train's multi-fusion positioning technology eliminates interference errors in train speed measurement and positioning, providing a basic guarantee for precise control of trains.
For the first time, long-distance autonomous foreign object detection and inspection of the main line section was realized. The obstacle detection distance and width were improved, and the detection distance reached 1,000 meters. It has the function of line foreign object inspection, and can push the inspection picture, time and location to the ground server for prompts, improving the line perception ability and emergency response efficiency.
The rain and snow mode was used for the first time on heavy-load trains. In view of the great impact of the meteorological environment on the transportation of heavy-load trains, rainy and snowy weather can easily cause locomotives to idle and slide, which can easily lead to locomotives idling and sliding, thus causing train impulse problems. A locomotive rain and snow operation mode was proposed, which introduced the meteorological information of the train operation environment for the first time, and supported the intelligent driving and control of locomotives in rain and snow mode, and adapted to automatic operation control under different weather conditions.
The first full-view monitoring and remote control of locomotives and trains was carried out. The system can obtain real-time information on locomotive road conditions, locomotive monitoring, microcomputers and other information that crew members pay attention to on a daily basis; it can monitor the operation status of locomotives on the entire line and has a single-point monitoring function; locomotives can push faults to the system in real time, and remote control of a single locomotive or train can be achieved at the same time.
From reliance on traditional manual driving to highly automated and intelligent leapfrog development, since the Baoshen Railway Group launched the country's first intelligently driven 10,000-ton heavy-load train in 2019, as of 2023, the number of intelligently driven locomotives has reached 30, greatly improving transportation efficiency and security capabilities, and greatly reducing the labor intensity of locomotive crew members.
