Three years ago today, Lianyungang Port built and used its own pure electric tugboat, and started the first pure electric tugboat in China, the "Yungang Electric Tug No. 1", with a single button. With the sound of the loud whistle, the firm exploration of the development of the pure electric tugboat business was opened.
Today, three years later, the "Yungang Electric Tug No. 1" has delivered an excellent report card with 36 months of stable operation. As the first ship of "first trial", the most scenarios and maximum use and verification are the concentrated embodiment of the "pioneering spirit" of Lianyungang's pure electric tugboat.

The total number of operations was 4,831, with an average of 4.47 operations per day, and the highest number of operations per month was 211, with a utilization rate of 35.4%; the total operating time was 6,099 hours, with an average operation time of 1.26 hours per ship. The highest number of operations per day was 12, with an operation time of 14 hours and a power consumption of 84%. The longest continuous operation was 8 ships, with an operation time of 9 hours and a power consumption of 40%; the total power consumption was 1,596,216 kWh, with an average power consumption of 330 kWh per ship. Normal charging was 570 times, with an average charge every 1.89 days. The average cost of a single ship operation was only 330 yuan. At the current utilization rate of 23.5%, the pure berthing assistance condition actually reduced fuel consumption by a total of about 725 tons and reduced carbon oxide emissions by about 2,175 tons compared with conventional tugboats. During the three years, the ship operated normally, the power system battery voltage, current, SOC, insulation resistance, temperature measurement and monitoring were normal, the battery management system and energy management system were smoothly controlled; the propulsion system responded quickly, the motor transmission part was well engaged; the deck machinery was normal and had excellent performance.
Every day for three years, the "Yungang Electric Tug No. 1" has been running at full power in the vast harbor, pulling not only the merchant ships passing by, but also the exploration and construction of the entire "manufacturing, use, management and training" system of the pure electric tugboat business of Lianyungang Port.

Lianyungang Port Barge Branch has compiled management systems and operation records such as the "Equipment Visualization Manual", "Work Log (Trial Operation)", "Repair and Maintenance Record Book", "Lithium Battery Charging Record Book", "Navigation Parameter Record Table", and "Shore-based Inspection Record Book" that are applicable to pure electric ships. The Equipment Support Center remotely monitors and guides through shipboard computers, and uses APP to view and monitor ship operating parameters in real time, effectively monitoring the ship's operating status. The Production and Dispatching Center scientifically formulates pure electric ship deployment plans based on ship power and operational expectations to ensure the safe operation of ships. Training——Having “complete teaching materials” and “practical training scenarios” for pure electric crew
"5-2=3" is a brand-new solution for zero-staffing in the engine room of a pure electric tugboat. The streamlining of personnel has brought about a significant reduction in human resource costs and maritime safety risks, but it also means an increase in the requirements for crew members. In order to "recharge" the crew, Lianyungang Port Barge Branch has compiled the first domestic crew training materials for battery-powered ships, "Battery-Powered Ship Crew Training Materials (Professional Training)" and "Battery-Powered Ship Crew Training Materials (Basic Training)". On the basis of complete theoretical learning, a "follow-up and follow-up" training plan was formulated to complete the "pre-job training" of pure electric tugboats in real ships and real situations. Through continuous exploration and summary of "pure electric crew" training, it has become the first unit in China with the qualification to train battery-powered ship crew members.
