According to Red Star Capital Bureau on August 15, Xiaomi Motors released Xiaomi SU7's answers to netizens' questions (episode 67) last night, which responded to the hotly debated online collision test between Xiaomi SU7 and Zeekr 007. Xiaomi Motors stated that the test was not rigorous, complete, and scientific in terms of setting, recording, and conclusion, and denied and explained some of the claims in the test.
On August 13, car blogger Gao Ruoxiang (nickname: It turns out to be Xiangxiang) released a video titled "When Xiaomi SU7 hits a Zeekr 007". He conducted a collision test on these two popular models at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour and an overlap rate of about 90%. Gao Ruoxiang pointed out in the video that the Xiaomi SU7 lost power and the door could not be opened after the collision. This did not happen with the Zeekr 007.
Gao Ruoxiang analyzed in the video, "According to on-site observations, the positive cable of the Xiaomi SU7's small battery fell off after the collision, causing a power outage. Its semi-hidden door handles need to be unlocked electronically, so they naturally cannot be opened after a power outage." He attributed the difference between the Xiaomi SU7 and the Zeekr 007 to Xiaomi's lack of experience in car manufacturing. The design differences made the Xiaomi SU7's small battery more easily damaged after a collision.
On the evening of August 14, Gao Ruoxiang released an apology statement and video, saying that the statement in the original video that "the positive power cable of the battery was knocked off" was inaccurate, and he modified the original video. At the same time, he emphasized that the content of the video did not contain any commercial elements, and no company had interfered with the content production.
On the evening of August 14, Xiaomi Motors responded to the above crash test incident in "Xiaomi SU7 Answers Netizens' Questions (Episode 67)". Xiaomi Motors believes that this so-called "test" is not rigorous, complete and scientific in terms of setting, recording and conclusion.
Xiaomi Automotive analysis pointed out that the statement that "the E-CALL (automatic emergency call system) failed after the collision" in the relevant test was untrue. "After investigation, the call center called and connected immediately after the collision, and the backend continued to call for 5 minutes without receiving any feedback; and then called back the car owner's registered mobile phone number a total of 5 times, but no one answered."

Regarding the "small battery power failure" information that netizens are concerned about, Xiaomi Motors stated that according to data from the national monitoring platform, the vehicle data was offline for a long time before the collision, and the small battery was disconnected for a long time; then, the small battery was connected again. At the time of the collision, the national monitoring platform data was missing, and the small battery was already in a power-off state. "We cannot confirm whether the electrodes were locked in accordance with the standard when the small battery was powered on again during this process, nor can we rule out the possibility that the small battery was powered off after the collision due to improper assembly."
Xiaomi Motors said that Xiaomi SU7 had undergone rigorous collision tests during its development process and had no safety risks, and the problems described in the video did not occur. Xiaomi Motors called for vehicle collision testing to be a complex, rigorous and extremely serious test, which should be conducted by professional organizations.
