As the team commander, Si Xuyang quickly directed the vehicles to adjust their formations according to the situation on the scene. Soon, the "broken-down" vehicle was "revived" by replacing the spare tire. This was a scene in the "Transportation Class Tactics" competition organized by the superior. With Si Xuyang's excellent command and the close cooperation of the team members, they won the first place in the subject and the class was awarded the third-class collective merit.
Since its establishment, the transport company where Si Xuyang works has been driving safely for 41 consecutive years, covering more than 16 million kilometers, and has won the second-class collective merit 5 times and the third-class collective merit 16 times. It has been commended by superiors many times in various aspects such as branch construction, military training, management education, and logistics support.
In recent years, as actual combat training continues to deepen and become more practical, the tasks of troop mobility, exercises, and material transportation have continued to increase. Not long ago, Ma Fubo, the instructor of the transport company of the unit, organized the drivers who were about to participate in the troop transportation to visit the company's warning room. After the warning education, he led everyone to visit the company's honor room and organized the oath of departure. Ma Fubo introduced: "It has become a tradition of the company to carry out ideological 'baptism' for drivers before the mission, which aims to instill in the officers and soldiers the concept that safety is the prerequisite for completing the mission, and ensure that the safety string is always tightened in their minds."
"License plate ××36, you are the tenth driver of this car..." In April this year, the company entered its 41st year of safe driving. The new driver, Sergeant Zhao Shuai, who had just been assigned to the company, experienced an unforgettable "first lesson" in joining the company. Ma Fubo said that they always adhere to the principle of driving safety from the source of ideological awareness. Whenever a new driver is assigned to a company, they will carry out educational ceremonies such as "Red Flag Drivers Talk about Inheritance" and "Vehicle Handover" to strengthen the safety awareness and responsibility mission of officers and soldiers by sharing the glorious history of the company and telling about the experience of abiding by laws and regulations.

When you walk into the company's stairs, corridors, barracks and other daily living places, you can see all kinds of safety reminders such as warning slogans, traffic regulations, driving discipline, etc. everywhere. Subconsciously, the concepts of safe driving, standardized driving, and civilized driving have taken root in the hearts of officers and soldiers.
In view of the high safety risks of long-distance transportation, the great psychological pressure on drivers, and the unpredictable road conditions, they carried out targeted psychological adjustment and counseling for the drivers before carrying out the mission, and strengthened the psychological quality of the officers and soldiers. During the mission, the fleet commander used portable communication equipment to inform the drivers of the entire fleet of road conditions in real time, and issued timely warnings when entering special sections such as steep slopes, tunnels, culverts, and intersections. This is a microcosm of the company's refinement of various management regulations in the military transportation system to the full range, full process, and full field of vehicle management, and the construction of a vehicle supervision and monitoring mechanism.
"Building a vehicle supervision and monitoring mechanism is the top priority to help drivers adjust their driving 'brakes' and ensure that the vehicle does not deviate or lose its way." Tian Zhen, the company commander, said that they insisted on using systems to manage vehicles and people, effectively preventing violations of regulations and disciplines. In vehicle maintenance, the company established a daily inventory, weekly inspection, and monthly joint inspection system on the basis of strengthening the three-level maintenance and control mechanism of "company commander, duty platoon leader, and squad leader backbone", so that vehicle maintenance is assigned to specific people, vehicles, and responsibilities, and everyone is "clear about the vehicle status" to ensure that there are no problems and no doubts when the vehicle is on the road. "Drivers cannot change the driving route without permission. This is not in compliance with regulations and poses a safety hazard. I hope you can understand." Not long ago, on the way back from a mission, driver Sergeant Li Jiawei received a call from a comrade. Although the comrade just wanted him to help transport a batch of supplies for the unit from a nearby warehouse, Li Jiawei politely refused. At the same time, in response to problems such as poor driving style, weak safety awareness, and untidy vehicle appearance of individual drivers, they adopt an assessment and points system in accordance with the Road Traffic Safety Law, "Military Vehicle Traffic Safety Management Regulations", "Military Vehicle Operation Management Regulations", "Military Vehicle Traffic Violation Points Handling Rules" and other laws and regulations. They organize theoretical assessments once a month, driving skills tests once a quarter, and refresher training once a year. For drivers who have a certain number of points deducted, their driver's licenses will be revoked and they will be transferred out of the driver team depending on the circumstances.

Upgrade the skill "Engine"

During the troop projection and transportation mission, the vehicle suddenly broke down when passing through a complex road section. There was a loud "bang" and smoke and dust rose.
"The right rear tire is flat!" Meng Jiahao, the driver of the third transport truck in the convoy, made a quick judgment.
In the critical moment, Meng Jiahao steadily controlled the steering wheel, slowed down reasonably, avoided the steep slopes and mountains on the left and right, and stopped the car steadily. Then, he used the communication equipment to quickly report the relevant situation to the company commander, and then used convenient equipment to change the tire without a jack. It took less than 3 minutes from the appearance of the danger to the "resurrection" of the car. Meng Jiahao was rated as an excellent soldier with "four qualities" that year because of his timely handling of the danger. In this regard, Meng Jiahao said that this was due to the solid special situation training on weekdays, so that he could make quick judgments and turn danger into safety in times of crisis.
"In wartime, motor vehicle soldiers are responsible for transporting soldiers, ammunition, supplies and other types of tasks. If the original plan is delayed, the war will be lost. They must practice the ability to drive, repair and handle special situations." Tian Zhen introduced that they insisted on changing the previous requirements that drivers only needed to drive, maintain and perform simple repairs to a higher level of handling special situations and solving problems. They established a car simulation cab, including VR simulation driving, vehicle assembly simulation, and regulatory learning platforms, simulating various special situation faults under multiple driving modes, so that drivers can master the judgment and handling methods of special situations and dangerous situations.
The battlefield environment in the future will be complex and harsh, and it is easy to encounter emergencies such as tire blowouts, artillery interceptions, and harassment by enemy spies during missions. The company also combines various exercise drills with special situations such as vehicle damage, enemy attacks, and crossing contaminated areas, forcing drivers to continuously improve their comprehensive skills and ensure that the vehicle can rescue itself when encountering "special situations" while performing missions.
In view of the uneven technical skills of the driving team, the company explored and formed a tiered teaching and training model with face-to-face theory, hands-on practice, and one-on-one solution to difficult problems. On the basis of strengthening basic subject training, it added complex roads such as crater roads, wading roads, and narrow roads to make up for the professional and technical shortcomings of drivers while further honing their strong psychological qualities.
"It is recommended that each vehicle be equipped with a self-rescue board to facilitate 'emergency' when the vehicle falls and no object can be found to fill the hole..." After each training mission, the company will immediately carry out a discussion activity on "I will talk about optimizing the quality and efficiency of support". The drivers will put forward opinions, ideas, and solutions based on the actual situation of the mission, and work together to resolve contradictions and problems, ensuring that every discussion is fruitful and every mission is improved.
In recent years, the company has explored and optimized the specific work of loading, transporting, unloading and other links according to the characteristics of different types of transportation and complex environments, sorted out the key points of safe driving in 5 categories and more than 10 types of road conditions, refined and summarized more than 50 safe driving guidelines, and formed a set of various types of transportation safety management models, which greatly improved the safety factor of driving in harsh environments and complex road conditions. In this regard, Tian Zhen said: "Safe driving is always on the road.
