On the evening of August 11, Luckin Coffee’s official customer service issued an apology letter: “Recently, due to a typo in the automatic reply to a question from the online customer service regarding Luckin Coffee’s global brand spokesperson Yi Yang Qianxi, we sincerely apologize to Mr. Yi Yang Qianxi and everyone. After receiving the feedback, the team immediately apologized to the spokesperson and the agency team, and the typo has been corrected in a timely manner.”

Pictures posted by multiple users on social media platforms showed that in the online customer service response of Luckin Coffee, the name of its spokesperson Yi Yang Qianxi was mistakenly written as "Yi Yang Gan Xi", which caused heated discussions among netizens. On August 12, a reporter from Nancai Express noticed that the error in the online customer service response of Luckin Coffee had been corrected.

On July 30, Luckin Coffee released its second quarter financial report for 2024, with total net revenue of RMB 8.403 billion, a year-on-year increase of 35.5%; operating profit under US accounting standards (GAAP) was RMB 1.051 billion, and operating profit margin was 12.5%, compared with 18.9% in the same period last year. Overall, Luckin Coffee's total net revenue in the first half of the year reached RMB 14.681 billion, a year-on-year increase of 38.0%; net profit was RMB 788 million, a year-on-year decrease of nearly 50%. Luckin Coffee explained that the decline in operating profit in the second quarter was mainly due to the decline in the average selling price of the company's products and the continued fluctuations in market dynamics and competition.

As of the end of the second quarter, Luckin Coffee had a total of 19,961 stores, including 13,056 self-operated stores and 6,905 franchised stores.
