Russia's Izvestia reported on the 11th that the results of a survey on the Russian HH.ru recruitment website showed that in the first half of this year, the number of Russian women invited to work was twice that of three years ago.

In the field of logistics and transportation, the proportion of women invited to work reached 29% (an increase of 8%), in the field of domestic work and services it was 47% (an increase of 6%), and in the information technology industry it was 38% (an increase of 9%). In addition, many women were invited to take up senior positions, and the number of invitations was 4.5 times that of three years ago.

The human resources director of a Russian company said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and regional conflicts, more people are looking for remote work opportunities, but women are more willing than men to consider working five days a week and working on-site. At the same time, vacancies in production lines that require male labor, such as fitters, forklift drivers, and painters, also create more job opportunities for women. In June this year, the proportion of women in the employed population in Russia was 49.1%.

The report said that the gender wage gap in Russia is still very obvious, with women earning one-third less than men on average. Experts believe that the main reason for this phenomenon is the uneven wage growth in different economic sectors.
