Ding ding ding, Huawei released a bunch of new products this afternoon, including mobile phones, computers, headphones and a bunch of other things, the most important of which is the Enjoyworld S9.

Because there are so many things, this time I invited Brother Neck to help me sort out the key points of the press conference for everyone.

Hongmeng Intelligent Driving

Let’s start with the most important thing: the car.

Right at the beginning, Mr. Yu mentioned the name of the fourth "realm". I thought it was called "Aojie" before, but this time it was officially announced as Zunjie.

Next, the protagonist of this event, the Enjoy S9, appeared.

This car is going to be a dual flagship with the Q9, so the positioning of the S9 is towards the high-end, which we can also see from the final selling price.

S9 comes in two versions:

Max version 399,800, Ultra version 449,800

Both have 100 kWh of electricity, and the main difference is rear-wheel drive/four-wheel drive, zero-gravity seats and laser projection configuration. If you need zero gravity and projection and have a good budget, then go for Ultra, because these two options together cost 40,000 yuan.

The previous pre-sale price of Xiangjie S9 was 450,000-550,000 yuan, and the official price has been reduced by 50,000 yuan, which is quite sincere. After all, among the same type of pure electric cars, the starting price of NIO ET7 with 100 kWh is 486,000 yuan.

As for what this car is like, Brother Neck also went for a test drive. It can be said that this car is in line with the official positioning of it inside and out -Executive Class Sedan

In terms of appearance, if it is a black car paint with black interior and brown wood grain inside, it really has the feel of a boss's car.

In terms of functions, the Enjoy S9 takes care of the needs of bosses in every aspect.Especially the various ways to play in the back row.

First, S9 directly gave aZero Gravity Chair, and the seat belts are tied to the seats instead of the pillars, so they are very convenient to use while driving.

Then the front boss button and extra-large armrest are also necessary. The boss button is placed on the door panel, and the front seats can be adjusted by activating it.

In front of the armrest, there is a 9-inch screen that can control audio and video entertainment, adjust seats, etc.

Behind the armrest is a refrigerator, or more precisely, a heating and cooling box, which can both cool and heat, and can hold about four bottles of drinks.

Lying down in the car and drinking some cold drinks, what else can you do at this time? Watch a movie.

The Xiangjie S9 also has a projection screen in the back row similar to that on the Wenjie M9, which is also controlled by the armrest screen. The video played in the car computer can be projected onto the screen.

From my personal experience, I feel that the quality of this screen is better than that of M9.

To create this curtain, the rear glass panels of the S9 are all equipped with privacy curtains. The side windows and rear windshield are electric, and the small triangular window is manual.

Then there is also a skylight sunshade above your head, which is in two sections, front and back, with the roller blind placed in the middle.

This all-round privacy protection is not enough. The Enjoy S9 also has a privacy sound shield function for the rear seats, which shuffles the conversation sounds of the rear passengers and plays them to the front seats, so that the people in the front seats can't hear what you are saying at all.

I tried it. The latter part sounded normal, but the former part sounded even harder to decipher than Wenzhou dialect. I couldn't make out a single word.

But one thing to note is that this can only protect against gentlemen but not villains, because the disrupted sounds in the front row come from the headrest speakers. If the driver moves his head away from the headrest, he can actually hear clearly what is being said in the back row.

Then there isRear seat experienceCompared with other "worlds", Enjoyworld S9 has a significant improvement.

Many cars, including the Q9 that our editorial department bought, have a significant difference in the riding experience between the front and rear seats. When encountering small ditches and bumps, the front seat passengers can sit very smoothly without feeling anything, but the people in the back seat can clearly feel it.

In the Xiangjie S9, the comfort level of the second row is not inferior to or even slightly better than that of the front row. It seems that they should have made some adjustments in this regard. It is worthy of being a car specially built for the boss.

At the same time, in order to take care of the passengers, Xiangjie has set up aMotion sickness reliefThe function makes acceleration, braking and kinetic energy recovery gentler when turned on. I feel like driving a gasoline car, as gentle as possible.

The boss needs a quiet environment when traveling, and Xiangjie has also taken this into consideration.

People from Huawei told me that all the glass in this car, including the windows, front and rear windshields, and sunroof, are double-layer laminated.

I think the quietness is really good when driving. When the speed increases from 20, 30 to 80, there is basically no noise. It is not until the speed reaches 100 that there is some wind noise.

In order to prove that the Xiangjie S9 is a qualified boss car, at the press conference, Yu Dazui also found cars that bosses like to buy, such as Maybach and BMW 7 Series, and compared them from beginning to end. Whether it is the interior space or the wind resistance coefficient, the Xiangjie S9 can surpass them.

Space and other things are easy to say, electric cars have advantages. But no, man, how can you compare the acceleration of an electric car with those old fuel cars? . . .

The acceleration data is okay, but the braking distance is a real surprise.

The official braking distance per 100 kilometers is an astonishing 32.77 meters. I looked at it several times to make sure I was not mistaken.

What does 32.77m mean? The German magazine "Auto Motor Und Sport" once did a braking distance test. You can see that almost all cars that can reach 33m are supercars. Even a monster like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is only 32.9m.

Anyway, combined with my braking experience during the test drive, I can only say that this number exceeded my cognition.

In addition, I also found some shortcomings.

I think the chassis of the Enjoy S9 is an improvement over previous Huawei models. The overall tuning is biased towards comfort, and it can also hold the body when taking sharp turns without making people feel loose.

But if compared with the benchmark sedan products of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, I think the old car companies are still better in creating a high-end chassis.

Then there is one thing I have never gotten used to. There is no safety handle in the front and rear seats of this car. I always feel that I have no place to put my hands, which is a bit awkward. I don’t understand it because I have never been a boss. Could it be that they don’t need this thing?

Also, because of the rear boss seat, the middle seat is very prominent, which is not very comfortable to sit on, and the rear seats cannot be folded down. If you want to use it for family use and have 3 people sitting in the back, please be careful.

Overall, I think the selling point of the Xiangjie S9 is all in the back seat. Let me tell you, as a person who loves driving so much, when I get on this car, I just want to lie comfortably in the back seat and tell the driver Xiao Li in the front to drive slowly and not to rush.

In addition to the above, Huawei also launched the latest intelligent driving function on the Enjoy S9.ADS 3.0 。The biggest change in this version’s functionality is the realization of intelligent driving from parking space to parking space.

Previously, Huawei's smart driving function on the road and valet parking in the parking lot were two relatively independent scenarios and were not connected.

But now, you can start directly from the parking space at the starting point and go all the way to the parking space at the end point, using intelligent driving throughout the entire journey.

I tried it and found that it can handle some difficult scenarios. For example, when we are exiting the parking lot gate and the left and right positions are very extreme, it will reverse twice and then go out.

Of course, to use smart driving in a parking lot, you need to scan the map of the parking lot first, so I think this function will be more practical in commuting scenarios.

Huawei's flagship active safety features have also been updated. For stationary vehicles, rollover vehicles, or water barriers, AEB can stop vehicles at 120km/h, regardless of whether they are driven by humans or smart drivers.

This time, a road adaptive AEB function has been added, which means that when the car is on epoxy floors or slippery, rainy, snowy or other roads, the car will brake in advance to avoid a collision.

It's a good idea, but in these situations, the braking distance will be longer. I suggest that everyone drive carefully.

These features of ADS 3.0 are not only available on Enjoy World S9, but will also be available on Ask World and Zhi World in September.

At the end of the conference, there was one more thing. The M7 has a new configuration, M7 Pro. The pre-sale price is the same as the previous M7 entry price, 249,800 yuan.

It’s just that the original M7 configuration did not have intelligent driving, and now it has been upgraded to Huawei intelligent driving without laser radar.

Now the M7 has become popular again, and it feels like it is competing against the Ideal L6. What's more, this is only the pre-sale price, you will know when it is officially released.

Full-scenario products

According to Huawei's habit, how could a press conference only launch cars? In addition to cars, there are also a series of full-scenario smart products, including mobile phones, tablets, mice, printers, smart screens, etc.

On the phone, I mainly reviewed the nova Flip, a small folding phone released the night before, and briefly introduced the five reasons why you are excited about this "different small folding phone", including its thin and light weight, external screen, Hongmeng AI fun, more practical hovering selfie, basalt water drop hinge, and Hongmeng Smart Communication 2.0 that supports dual SIM cards to answer calls at the same time.

When the nova Flip is unfolded, the thickness of the whole device is only 6.88mm. You have to know that nowadays, any straight-screen flagship that can achieve a thickness of less than 8mm is worth bragging about. The thickness starting with 6 is really a bit disappointing.

Of course, being so thin and light has its price. Its battery is only 4400 mAh, which is not particularly small in a small phone, but if you use it according to the usage habits of ordinary mobile phones, you can't have too high expectations for battery life.

The most interesting thing is the external screen. Nova Flip did not follow the trend of making a full external screen covering the entire back cover, but chose a 2.14-inch square external screen.

Don’t be fooled by the small size of the external screen, there are many ways to play with it, such as raising cute pets and playing small games. But the call display is a bit conspicuous, and it blingbling every time someone calls... Maybe this is the trend.

This time, the color scheme of Nova Flip is also very youthful, especially the main color "New Green". From the PPT, it looks a little lighter than fluorescent green, and the burnt feeling is quite nice.

With a starting price of 5288, there is basically no doubt that nova Flip is a fashion product targeting the young market.

Let's take a look at the two tablets.

The newly added 12.2-inch MatePad Pro and the new MatePad Air both have soft light versions, and are compatible with the third-generation M-Pencil with starlight. Even the screen ratio has been changed to 3:2, which is more suitable for work. The actual efficiency of using them for work is still unclear, but at least from the configuration point of view, productivity is fully maximized.

The slightly more expensive MatePad Pro 12.2" also has the added bonus of a dual-layer OLED.

As we have introduced in our previous articles, the biggest advantage of double-layer OLED is that it can increase the screen display brightness as much as possible without affecting the service life.

With the support of dual-layer OLED, the official maximum brightness of MatePad Pro 12.2" is claimed to be 2000 nit, which is twice that of the Air with LCD screen released at the same time.

Of course, good things are complicated to make, and double-layer OLED is more complicated than ordinary OLED in terms of process and technology. So Tony reasonably suspected that this is one of the reasons why Huawei did not make double-layer OLED on the larger 13.2-inch screen.

In addition, Huawei has developed an original flash point elimination technology to further improve the display effect. 144 Hz refresh rate and 2.8K resolution are also arranged. In this way, even if you buy it and watch iQiyi, the experience will not be bad.

Oh, it's this 3:2 productivity screen ratio. The upper and lower black borders will be a bit large when watching 16:9. It depends on personal preference. I like to watch videos with barrage, and this ratio is just right so that the barrage does not block the picture, which is okay for me.

In addition to hardware, the two tablets released this time also repeatedly emphasize productivity in terms of software and the popular AI. For example, the Tianshenghuihua APP that has been preheated before is finally online this time.

Compared with the previous version, this official version supports more brushes and more adjustable parameters. As for the specific painting effects, I don’t have much artistic talent to understand, but the design guy in the office said it was very easy to use when he tried the old version.

And one thing I want to praise is that this drawing software is free! To be honest, this strategy is indeed more in line with the habits of Chinese people.

After talking about painting, which I don’t know much about, I have to talk about this series of AI functions: in addition to Xiaoyi’s help with writing and AI handwriting typesetting, there is also a function that particularly appeals to Tony - AI pinyin association.

That’s right, as long as you write the pinyin with a pen on the MatePad Pro, you can long press to select the Chinese characters that AI will associate for you based on the pinyin context.

However, we haven’t tried it yet, so we don’t know what the actual effect will be.

Huawei has put a lot of thought into not only the software and hardware of the tablet, but also the accessories - the newly released Huawei Star Leap Keyboard also has a special storage compartment for the pen, which can be placed inside to charge.

This detail deserves a thumbs up.

In addition, the new MatePad Air was released together with the MatePad Pro 12.2. Compared with the Pro, the Air is positioned to be thinner and younger.

However, despite having a 12-inch screen, the body is 5.9 mm thick and weighs 555g. Compared to the previous MatePad Pro 12.2, which is only 5.5mm thick and weighs only 508g...

So the fact that Pro is more airy than Air is also contagious, right?

There are no major problems with other features, such as natural drawing, copywriting, document Q&A, etc. Air also supports these productivity features, even the soft light version.

If I have to say there is a regret, it is that the Air does not have a dual-layer OLED like the Pro, probably due to cost considerations.

The press conference did not mention the specific models of the two tablet processors, but there were reports online that the MatePad Pro 12.2-inch uses the Kirin 9010W, while the new Air uses the Kirin 9000W.

It is estimated that the performance of these two processors will be similar in the end, and they can only run some placement games.

From this perspective, these two tablets, from basic hardware to accessories, to software and AI, are all aimed at productivity.

Coupled with the productivity tools that the MatePad series already has, such as PC-level WPS and CAJViewer (CNKI dedicated document reader), these two tablets can be more practical in terms of productivity and more in line with the Chinese people's usage intuition.

Finally, let’s take a look at the complete configuration and price. I don’t know if such configuration and price impress you. Anyway, for Tony, some functions are worth it.

As for the remaining accessories, such as the 4x anti-interference Star Leap Mouse GT, the Bisheng laser printer, and the FreeBuds 6i headphones, etc., I will not introduce them one by one. I have sorted out the general situation and prices for you. If you are interested, you can go to the official website to learn more.

This time, it can be seen that Huawei attaches great importance to the Enjoy S9.

During the press conference, the bosses of BAIC and CATL came to the stage. Mr. Zeng from CATL spoke eloquently for several minutes. I felt that he said more than he did at CATL’s own press conference.

This more or less shows that Huawei has already established a circle of friends in the automotive business, unlike in the past when many car companies were on guard against it everywhere.

The performance of the Q9 has proven that Huawei has a certain appeal in the high-end market. The Enjoy S9 is also targeting this market. In addition, its product strength is also good, so it is estimated that traditional luxury car brands will have to sweat.

However, I have to add a but. Although the initial launch price of S9 has shown sincerity, it is still very difficult for S9 to replicate the huge success of M9 at this stage.

On the one hand, the competition in the luxury car market is currently quite fierce, with Audi and Mercedes-Benz both cutting their prices, and the S9 has many potential competitors.

On the other hand, the S9 is currently a pure electric version, and due to age issues, a considerable portion of its target population may not be able to fully accept pure electricity. Even though charging stations are now very common and the cruising range is very high, range anxiety is a hurdle that cannot be overcome.

Wait for the extended-range version of S9 to come out later. With a fuel tank, the combination of pure electric and extended-range will be more likely to catch up with the popularity of the current M9.

Finally, I have to complain that the press conference lasted three hours, which was really too long. Digital cars are very important, or we can split them up. My waist can’t bear it anymore at my age. . .
