China's digital entertainment market reaches 1.21 trillion yuan

The conference released the "China Entertainment Industry Artificial Intelligence Industry Application Development Report". Li Zhi, Dean and Chief Analyst of the Intelligence Institute of Beijing iResearch Digital Technology Co., Ltd., gave a detailed interpretation of the report. In 2023, China's cultural industry seized the opportunity of digital development, and the effect of diversified commercial realization was evident. Wang Hongpeng, president of the Digital Entertainment Branch of the China Cultural and Entertainment Industry Association and general manager of Global Digital, told reporters that through cost optimization and value reengineering, multiple industries are being driven into a new stage of intelligent production. AIGC applications are moving towards a trillion-level market, especially in the field of digital entertainment, showing great potential.

Xiang Yong, Dean and Professor of the Institute of Cultural Industries at Peking University, believes that the digital entertainment industry needs to be driven by changes in the three dimensions of quality, efficiency and motivation in order to achieve diversified, integrated and high-quality development.

Zhang Quanwen, general manager of Baidu's AI technology marketing department, said that AIGC started with "understanding ability" and has rapidly evolved into "creative ability" in the past three years. The Wenxin big model deeply empowers the application and development of the cultural and entertainment field and promotes new cultural and entertainment production.

Wang Jun, deputy director of the Meituan Research Institute, said that according to Meituan platform data, the transaction amount of the online entertainment industry in the first half of 2024 increased by 54.5% year-on-year, and the development of the entertainment industry showed a thriving trend.

Sun Hui, Secretary-General of Tencent Culture and Tourism Industry Research Institute and Chief Expert of Tencent Culture and Tourism, said that the culture and tourism industry is a natural application scenario for digital technology. Li Xingye, vice president of SenseTime’s Digital Entertainment Business Unit, demonstrated classic cases of SenseTime’s new large-scale models and digital virtual humans empowering the entertainment industry, and said that SenseTime is committed to developing responsible AI and building a general artificial intelligence system that is people-oriented, trustworthy, controllable, open and inclusive.

Zhao Weichen, general manager of Xiaohongshu's Internet and Entertainment Industry Group, said that the growth rates of Xiaohongshu's music and game categories reached 241% and 239% respectively, and the scale of its film and television category ranked fifth. Xiaohongshu has set off a huge wave of entertainment consumption.

Cheng Xiaona, vice president of Titanium Technology, said that Titanium Technology has served more than 80,000 companies to achieve global growth, including many consumer entertainment companies.
