lu aihong introduced that my country promulgated the first "classification of occupations of the people's republic of china" in 1999. this classification is an important carrier of my country's occupational classification. at present, the classification has been revised twice. the latest classification promulgated in 2022 divides my country's existing occupations into 8 categories, including 1,639 occupations.

lu aihong said that with the development of the economy and society, scientific and technological progress, and the adjustment and upgrading of industrial structure, new industries, new formats and new models have accelerated their development, and new occupations have emerged. they have continued to emerge and develop, and need to be collected and released in a timely manner. the timely collection and release of new occupations is of great significance. first, it is conducive to promoting employment and entrepreneurship. collecting, standardizing and publishing new occupation information can enhance the social recognition of new occupations and expand the employment options of workers. second, it is conducive to promoting the connection between talent training and market demand. the release of new occupations and the development of new standards can provide a basis and reference for the professional setting, teaching design and teaching material development of vocational education, and improve the pertinence and applicability of skill talent training. third, it is conducive to promoting the healthy development of new formats. by formulating relevant standards and specifications, we can guide the healthy development of new occupations, thereby promoting more standardized and professional new formats.
