on august 30, the first "beijing sail" roof of the sub-center hub project was installed and constructed. the steel structure of this "beijing sail" roof is 77 meters long, 68 meters wide, 14 meters to 27.5 meters high, weighing about 1,500 tons, with about 4,208 honeycomb aluminum panels for the sail surface curtain wall, and about 10,000 square meters of single-layer tensile membrane and air pillow membrane for the lighting bubble layer.

it is understood that the design inspiration of the "beijing sail" roof comes from the sailing ships on the grand canal, showing an architectural form with the implication of "setting sail and thousands of sails competing". it adopts a "double-layer co-construction" structural design, with the upper layer being the "sail surface" of "steel structure + etfe tensile membrane + curtain wall honeycomb aluminum panel", and the lower layer being the "lighting bubble" of "steel structure + etfe air pillow membrane". this design not only enhances the thermal insulation of the roof, but also effectively improves the stability and durability of the roof. the "beijing sail" roof also incorporates a variety of green energy-saving construction technologies, such as perforated sunshade design, efficient thermal insulation materials and insulation technology, which can reduce heat load by 5.2 million kwh per year, equivalent to the summer cooling capacity of 3,200 household air conditioners; it can also reduce lighting electricity consumption by about 486,000 kwh per year.
