The latest season of Jiangsu Satellite TV's "I Read on an Island" will bring our love for literature and nourish our hearts and eyes.
On the afternoon of August 24th, local time, the Sino-Greek Literature Exchange Meeting of "I Read on the Island 3" was held at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Hellenic Republic. Yu Hua, Su Tong, Meng Fei, Cheng Yongxin and Ye Zi, the guest writers of this season of "I Read on the Island", presented books to the library of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Hellenic Republic as representatives. Lai Bo, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Hellenic Republic, and Wang Ying, Counselor, attended the exchange meeting.
Representatives of the program team of "I Read on the Island 3", Greek pioneer playwright and poet Dimitris Lyakos, and Mihaly, a famous Greek media person and Jiangsu Radio and Television General Station's International Communication Ambassador, attended the event. The books donated this time include "To Live", "Brothers", "The Yellow Bird", "Wives and Concubines", "Night Stories", "A Person's Literary History", "Aunt in Cheongsam", "Go with the Flow" and other literary classics and bestsellers, all of which will be collected in the library of the Chinese Embassy in Greece.
Dimitris Lyakos, a representative of Greek writers, delivered a speech to welcome the Chinese writers who came from afar. He said that Chinese and Greek have a long history and are rich in cultural connotations. Many literary works have common resonances. He looks forward to chatting with outstanding writers about Chinese and Greek literature.
It is reported that the third season of "I Study on the Island" will be filmed on the Greek island of Crete. Xiao Junzheng, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Hellenic Republic, welcomed this and hoped that the recording and broadcast of this season's program would deepen the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and Greek civilizations. He also said that the embassy will provide full support for the filming of the program in Greece.
From Hainan's Boundary Island to Zhuhai's Dong'ao Island, the third season of "I Read on the Island" not only goes abroad in terms of physical space, but also seeks more diverse cultural exchanges and mutual learning of civilizations in terms of content. This season's program is jointly produced by Jiangsu Satellite TV and Toutiao, and invites many writers, translators, and publishers from different countries to join in, talking about the common human emotions in literary works and feeling the collision and integration of different cultures.
