According to CNN, American singer Taylor Swift issued a statement on social media on August 21, local time, commenting on the cancellation of her concert in Austria due to being the target of a terrorist attack. According to reports, the organizer of Swift's concert announced on social media on the evening of August 7 that Swift's three performances in Vienna were canceled due to security reasons. This is the first time Taylor Swift has commented on the incident.

Taylor Swift reportedly said in a statement, "The reasons for canceling the performances have filled me with new fears, and it has also made me feel hugely guilty because so many people planned to come to these performances. But I am also very grateful to the (Austrian) authorities. Thanks to them, we are grieving for (no) concerts, not (lost) lives."

She added: "I've been so inspired by the outpouring of solidarity and love from my fans. I've decided to put all my energy into helping protect the nearly half a million people who will be attending our shows in London, and my team and I are working every day with venue staff and the UK authorities to achieve this goal. I want to thank them for everything they've done for us."

CNN said that Taylor Swift's performance at London's Wembley Stadium ended on the 20th local time, which also marked the end of her European tour. On August 7, Austria announced that they had thwarted a terrorist attack planned at Taylor Swift's performance. Swift's statement on the 21st was her first public comment on the incident.

As for the timing of her statement, Swift explained, "If I thought speaking publicly about something might anger those who wish to hurt my fans, I wouldn't do it. In this case, 'silence' was really about restraint, waiting for the right time to express myself. My priority was to complete our European tour safely, and I'm very relieved to say we did that."
