Recently, the Dream Building Practice Service Team of the School of Computer Science of Guangdong Normal University (hereinafter referred to as the "Practice Team") carried out a five-day teaching activity in Guicheng, Foshan.
The practice group came to Die'er Community, Guicheng, Foshan, with the theme of "Green Heritage, Intangible Cultural Heritage Rebirth", aiming to carry out a series of teaching activities through the deep integration of Lingnan intangible cultural heritage and environmental protection concepts, providing children with opportunities to contact and learn traditional culture and green living concepts. The practice group designed and implemented a series of creative and educational special courses. Through hands-on practical activities, children will contact and experience the characteristics of traditional culture, learn environmental protection knowledge, cultivate social responsibility, and lay the foundation for sustainable development.
In order to explore how traditional culture and environmental protection can coexist harmoniously and promote each other in the context of a rapidly developing modern society, the practice group actively responded to the "Green and Beautiful Guangdong" strategy, and combined with the emphasis on the protection of Lingnan's "intangible cultural heritage", innovatively implemented an education model that integrates environmental protection and "intangible cultural heritage". The members of the practice group adopted a direct and clear explanation and demonstration method, using waste materials to innovatively display "intangible cultural heritage" skills, such as "intangible cultural heritage" woven fans, natural plant rubbings, and waste paper pulp painting. These courses not only allow children to experience the unique charm of "intangible cultural heritage" culture in hands-on practice, but also cleverly integrate environmental protection concepts, so that they naturally learn environmental protection knowledge in the learning process.
The practice group also expanded the teaching topics such as painting, singing, and games. By introducing a variety of teaching activities, it aims to promote the all-round development of children. In addition, the "intangible cultural heritage" and environmental protection are integrated into activities such as painting and singing, so that children can be educated in a subtle way. Let the children learn and grow in a relaxed and happy atmosphere, and stimulate their interest in excellent traditional culture and attention to environmental protection.
Faced with the challenge of how to effectively integrate the two relatively independent fields of "intangible cultural heritage" and environmental protection, the practice group, through this practice of integrating the two concepts of "intangible cultural heritage" and environmental protection into education, saw the possibility that in the rapidly developing modern society, excellent traditional culture and environmental protection can promote each other and coexist harmoniously.
Huang Weiying, a member of the practice group, shared after teaching the lesson on paper pulp painting using waste paper: "I feel proud and happy when I see the children holding their own paper pulp paintings in their hands. From collecting waste paper and preparing paper pulp to guiding the children to create, every member of our practice group is fully committed, hoping to bring an unforgettable learning experience to the children." The members of the practice group expressed the hope that through such practical activities, not only can the children learn how to transform waste into works of art and feel the joy of creation, but more importantly, it can inspire their interest and love for traditional culture and make them aware of the close connection between traditional culture and environmental protection concepts.
