Recently, netizens in Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu and other places reported on social platforms that the price of shared bicycles has increased again. The starting price has been adjusted from "1.5 yuan for the first 15 minutes" to "1.5 yuan for the first 10 minutes", and "1.8 yuan for the first 10 minutes" during holidays. After 10 minutes, the billing standard is 1 yuan per 15 minutes. Based on this calculation, the cost of riding for one hour after the adjustment is close to 6 yuan.

Compared with the previous starting price of "1.5 yuan for the first 30 minutes", the price has now increased by 50%. Many netizens lamented that the starting price of shared bicycles has officially entered the "10-minute era", "more expensive than taking a bus", and "almost catching up with the subway". As of now, the shared bicycle industry has gone through ten years, and user reviews have also changed from the initial "convenient and cost-saving" to the current "unaffordable".

Shared bicycles are an asset-heavy, investment-heavy industry, and their pricing is more affected by operating investment. It is understood that the operating investment of shared bicycles includes the depreciation cost of the vehicles, the labor cost of operation and maintenance, and warehouse management. In addition, the operation and maintenance cost is also a considerable expense, which directly reflects the cost pressure faced by shared bicycle companies. In fact, the current profitability of the shared bicycle industry is not ideal.

Data from Tianyancha Professional Edition shows that as of now, there are more than 54,000 companies related to shared bicycles.

In terms of geographical distribution, Guangdong, Yunnan and Shandong are the top three provinces in terms of the number of shared bicycle-related companies, with more than 5,000, more than 3,900 and more than 3,800 companies respectively; in terms of establishment time, more than half of the companies were established between 1 and 5 years ago, and companies established within 1 year accounted for 33.9%.
