On July 17, the reporter visited this unmanned restaurant located on Daxuedong Road in Tangshan Hi-Tech Zone and had a dining experience. After entering the restaurant by scanning the QR code with his mobile phone, the reporter scanned the QR code on the touch screen to place an order. Homely dishes such as twice-cooked pork, shredded pork with fish flavor, kung pao chicken, and spicy and sour potato shreds were all available. As the freezer door opened, the reporter took out the side dish box of the selected dish and put it into the "robot chef machine" next to it. The robot then poured the ingredients from different partitions in the side dish box into the wok in batches according to the preset program and in the order of precedence. Afterwards, the reporter clicked "Start cooking" on the touch screen, and the dish was ready in about 4 minutes.

According to Zhao Zhijie, the person in charge of the smart restaurant of Tangshan Cultural Tourism Group, the restaurant uses cutting-edge technologies such as smart catering robots and the Internet of Things to realize the automation of catering services and the autonomy of customer selection. The smart food cabinets in the restaurant can monitor the inventory of ingredients in time and remind customers to replenish them to ensure the freshness of the ingredients. The "smart chef" equipped in the restaurant has been repeatedly debugged by human chefs, ensuring that customers can enjoy delicious food with just a few clicks.

Since the unmanned restaurant is open 24 hours a day, it breaks the limitation of traditional restaurant business hours. As soon as it opened, it attracted couriers, taxi drivers and others to come and dine. While dining in the restaurant, they can also take a rest in the restaurant.
