on september 18, xingyi south station of the panxing railway station project, which was undertaken by china railway no. 8 engineering group co., ltd., successfully completed all preliminary preparations and was officially announced to have entered the substantive construction stage. it is expected to be put into use by the end of 2025.

since the launch of the project, all the staff of the project department have gone through 20 days of intensive preparation. with the strong support of the state and municipal governments, anliu company, shanghai-kunming company and various departments at all levels of the railway and local governments, they have overcome numerous difficulties and efficiently completed a series of complex and tedious preliminary work such as temporary facility planning, the delivery of construction machinery and materials, the preparation of construction organization design plans, testing and inspection work, design briefing and drawing review, ensuring that the project meets the conditions for commencement as scheduled.
it is understood that there are two stations along the panxing railway, xingyi south station and baotian station. the construction content includes two new station buildings (total construction area of 22,946.9 square meters), five platform canopies (total projection area of 22,926 square meters), 15 production and living houses (total area of 22,564 square meters) and other key projects. the building area of xingyi south station is 19,953.9 square meters. the front streamers and roof shapes of the station building are inspired by the scenery of wanfenglin in qianxinan prefecture, which has strong regional characteristics. after the station is completed and put into use, it will become an important transportation hub in the region, greatly improving the travel convenience of local residents.

panxing railway, an important transportation artery connecting panzhou city and xingyi city, is about 98.309 kilometers long with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour. it is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2025. it is a key project in the "13th five-year plan" comprehensive transportation plan of guizhou province and even the country.
this project not only carries the historical mission of ending the history of xingyi city without high-speed rail, but is also the last piece of the puzzle for guizhou province to achieve the goal of "high-speed rail in every city". as the finale of guizhou province's "high-speed rail in every city" strategy, after the completion and commissioning of the panxing railway, it will not only greatly shorten the travel time from guiyang to xingyi to less than 2 hours, but will also further improve the high-speed rail network in guizhou province, and build a 1 to 2 hour high-speed rail transportation circle from guiyang to the central cities of 8 cities (prefectures) in the province. it will also attract more people, logistics, and information flows to converge in southwest guizhou, injecting new vitality into local tourism, commerce and trade and other industries. at the same time, with the improvement of transportation conditions, the location advantages of southwest guizhou prefecture will be further highlighted, becoming an important hub connecting guizhou with surrounding provinces.
