the largest lantern festival in beijing's history, the "beijing lantern festival", is being held at the beijing garden expo park. citizens and tourists can experience the audio-visual feast of chinese traditional culture in the light and shadow atmosphere created by more than a hundred groups of lanterns.
the "beijing lantern festival" is themed "interweaving of lights and shadows, beijing night dreams" and has designed multiple theme areas. there are lanterns with themes of dragon and phoenix and abundant harvests every year, which are based on traditional chinese elements, implying auspiciousness and happiness; there are also works such as light and shadow tunnels and digital interactions based on modern technology, allowing tourists to experience cultural inheritance and innovation.
through clever arrangement, the performance and the lanterns form an "intertextual" performance: in the center of the yunfu lotus-shaped stage, the beijing yuefu folk orchestra is playing "lugou dawn moon", and on the right side of the stage is a 70-meter-long and 18-meter-high "lugou dawn moon" large-scale light group, which is magnificent and gorgeous in the dark night. the sound by the ears and the scenery in front of the eyes blend together, leading tourists into the scene of "lugou dawn moon", one of the eight scenic spots in yanjing.

during the performance, fengtai district's original performances such as the audio textbook "lugou ballad" for primary and secondary school students, the han and tang dynasty classical dance "bu tian ge", the opera song "feng jing ru hua", and the fengtai city creation theme song "blooming" were staged one after another. in addition, huang ronggui, the apprentice of mr. sui shaofu, the master of the flower show known as the "living fossil of the flower show", and the fifth-generation inheritor feng wenwu performed on the same stage, bringing the intangible cultural heritage art - the zhongfan "happy mid-autumn festival".

it is understood that in the first two days of the holiday, about 100,000 tourists entered the beijing garden expo park to experience the feast of light and shadow. in order to cope with the large passenger flow, multiple temporary ticket sales points and ticket inspection channels were added on site, and security forces were strengthened to ensure the personal and property safety of tourists. previously, the beijing garden expo park had released a travel guide for the lantern festival, extended the operating hours of surrounding public transportation lines, and added temporary stops to meet the travel needs of tourists.
