in 815 ad, the 43-year-old poet bai juyi was exiled to jiangzhou, now jiujiang. the following year, he created one of the most important works of his life here - "pipa xing". in this poem, bai juyi lamented that "we are both people who have fallen into the world, so why do we have to know each other when we meet?" in the documentary, scholar yang yu visited jiujiang and looked for the process of bai juyi's mentality and cognitive transformation in his poetry creation during the jiangzhou period. the camera captured the secret connection between tang poetry and contemporary life, and found the poetic meaning in bai juyi's poems in modern daily life.

during the production of this season, the scene that touched li wenju the most was when shooting the episode about li shangyin. the team went to the luoyang ancient tomb museum to shoot the murals of zhao yi's tomb. the murals had particularly clear portraits of tang dynasty ladies. these paintings of ladies belonged to the same era as li shangyin, which was equivalent to the photo album of li shangyin's era. in the program, the costume historian chen shiyu restored the ladies' paintings based on these ladies' paintings. from the costumes to the makeup, and even the models, they were almost replicas of the ladies on the murals.
