humanoid robots have an intelligent "brain", an agile "cerebellum" and flexible "limbs".
as the center of the humanoid robot control system, the "brain" undertakes complex cognitive and decision-making functions similar to the human brain. based on key technologies such as universal large models, data sets, efficient computing architecture, and multimodal fusion perception, the "brain" enables humanoid robots to have learning and adaptability, enabling them to handle basic operations, image processing, visual recognition, decision planning, and intelligent decision-making.
the cerebellum plays an important role in the motion control and coordination of humanoid robots and is the guarantee for achieving precise movements. the cerebellum consists of a sensor fusion module, a dynamics model, and a controller, which formulates motion strategies to ensure the smoothness and stability of the robot's movements.
the "body (limbs)" includes three aspects: upper limbs, lower limbs and sensors. in terms of upper limbs, multi-joint, multi-degree-of-freedom robotic arms have developed relatively maturely, but the fine operation of the dexterous hands at the end of the upper limbs requires rapid iteration. with the development of quadruped robots in recent years, the research and development of lower limbs has progressed rapidly. in terms of sensors, visual sensors are relatively mature, and the tactile sensors at the end are constantly iterating. in the future, humanoid robots will take the route of multimodal sensor fusion.
the humanoid robots on display at this conference have their own strengths. some can get up on their own after falling down, and some can dance and do somersaults. the reason behind these actions is that the humanoid robots have smarter "brains", stronger advanced cognition and decision-making abilities, more agile "cerebellums", more precise motion control, more flexible "limbs", and higher motion accuracy and energy efficiency of the main structure, reflecting the development and progress of key technologies.
