Reviews
From a trade perspective, the negative impact of the EU's anti-subsidy investigation on China's electric vehicles on normal bilateral trade has become more prominent, and we look forward to China and the EU seeking constructive solutions through bilateral or multilateral channels. Chinese and European electric vehicle companies both embrace and look forward to increased cooperation, and hope that the EU policy environment will be more conducive to promoting China-EU industry cooperation.
02.BMW's massive recall
On August 16, BMW Brilliance and BMW (China) filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation, recalling nearly 1.358 million domestic and imported BMW vehicles from August 16. This recall involves many models, including domestic 1 Series, 2 Series, 3 Series and domestic X1 models, a total of 598,496 vehicles recalled. Imported 1 Series, 2 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and imported X1, X3, X4, X5, X6 models, a total of 759,448 vehicles recalled.
Reviews
The reason for this recall is that when the steering wheel airbag is deployed, the gas generator may explode, causing fragments to fly out and injure people in the car. The recall time of BMW brand models in China is often later than that in foreign countries. A month ago, BMW just recalled 390,000 cars in the United States because of defects in the airbags, which are dangerous when deployed. Moreover, the production span of the models that BMW will recall this time is relatively long. The production dates of the recalled products are from 2003 to 2017, nearly 14 years, and some models were produced.
03.Exposure WorldS9Will launch extended range version
Recently, a group of spy photos of the extended-range version of the Xiangjie S9 were exposed on the Internet. The overall design is very similar to the pure electric version. It is expected to be officially launched in 2025 and the price will be lower than the pure electric version. For reference, the pure electric version of the Xiangjie S9 is priced at 399,800 yuan and 449,800 yuan respectively.
Reviews
According to the data released by Hongmeng Zhixing at the beginning of this month, the order volume of Xiangjie S9 exceeded 4,800 units within 72 hours of its launch. This number is already very good for a high-end pure electric car, but if Xiangjie S9 wants to create a phenomenal performance like Wenjie M9, it will definitely not be able to rely on pure electricity alone. After the extended-range model comes from behind, it is still expected to become a hit.
04.Zeekr Legal Department takes action
On August 14, Zeekr's legal department issued a statement saying that in response to Zeekr's 2025 new product launch, a large amount of organized rumors, photoshopped images, fabricated personal attacks and other false information have appeared on online platforms recently. The company has secured relevant evidence and reported to the police, and will severely pursue the legal responsibilities of all rumor mongers in accordance with the law.
Reviews
Unlike the previous fuel-powered car era, where models were updated every six to seven years and mid-term changes were made every two to three years, the model iteration cycle in the electric car era has been compressed to one and a half years or even one year. For car companies, how to maintain their reputation among old car owners and properly handle the relationship between product updates, technology iterations and car owners' rights are particularly important issues.
