Beijing News (Reporter Qin Shengnan) In response to the conflict between a delivery man and a security guard in Hangzhou, Meituan responded on August 13 that "the delivery riders at the scene were collectively banned" was a rumor, and the company did not take any negative measures against any riders, such as banning accounts or restricting orders.

On the evening of August 12, the Xihu Branch of the Hangzhou Public Security Bureau issued a police report, saying that a male food delivery rider knelt down after a conflict with the park security guard after stepping on a crooked fence during the delivery process, which caused a crowd to gather. The police report called on everyone to remain calm and hoped that everyone would not make, believe or spread rumors.

Subsequently, Meituan responded that it would handle any unfair treatment that riders might encounter to the end, and would cooperate with relevant departments in investigations based on the riders' demands to effectively safeguard the riders' legitimate rights and interests.

At the same time, there were online rumors on social media that "the delivery riders on site were collectively banned." In response, Meituan said that throughout the incident, the company did not take any negative measures that were unfavorable to the riders, such as banning the account or restricting orders. The company has taken legal measures against the accounts that created and spread the rumors and the people behind them.

Meituan said that after the conflict occurred, it immediately dispatched a specialist to the scene to assist the rider in handling the conflict and paid the property management for the fence repair costs. The rider has now returned safely. Meituan will provide various assistance based on the rider's request.

The incident also exposed the problem of the "last mile" of food delivery into residential areas. Many food delivery boys face problems such as difficulty in entering the door and parking the car. The contradiction between the owner's service and the "property house rules" frequently occurs. Recently, there have been many incidents of riders being treated unfairly by security guards. Meituan officials said that they will take three major measures to further protect the rights and interests of riders, including improving the rider rights protection team, providing necessary security and legal support through a dedicated line for riders; actively communicating with local communities and property companies to explore win-win situations and build more rider-friendly communities; and coordinating with all sectors of society to optimize the safety of rider delivery and the response to unexpected events, while safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of riders and providing users with certain and timely food delivery services.
