Recently, the Tianhe District Education Development Research Institute of Guangzhou City launched the 2024 Tianhe District Primary and Secondary School "Qingsui" New Teacher Project, and carried out the first phase of offline training and opening ceremony for new teachers at Tianhe Foreign Language School from August 12th to 18th. The purpose is to provide new teachers with a comprehensive and systematic training and growth platform, laying a solid foundation for building a high-quality and professional teaching team and promoting the high-quality development of Tianhe District's education.
486 new teachers from primary and secondary schools and kindergartens have jointly embarked on this learning and growth journey full of challenges and opportunities.
According to reports, this training has five highlights: First, the course content is comprehensive. It covers more than 10 topics such as teacher ethics, class management, teaching art, digital literacy, etc., with both theoretical guidance and practical guidance. Second, the teaching staff is strong. 82 university experts and first-line subject teachers were carefully selected. Among them, in addition to 9 experts, 73 provincial, municipal and district subject teachers were recruited, so that new teachers can receive high-level guidance at the beginning of their employment. Third, it is highly interactive. The training set up interactive links such as "round table forum", "group learning report" and "famous teacher face-to-face", which enhanced the participation and interactivity of the training. Fourth, create various opportunities and platforms for style display. Through singing, hosting, group reporting, etc., new teachers have the opportunity to show their expertise and learning achievements, and get comments and guidance from experts. Fifth, efficient coordination and organization. In a short period of time, nearly 40 WeChat groups such as temporary party branches, party groups, class committees, and subject groups were established to actively respond to various issues. Relevant personnel worked overtime, and new teachers in the music and art groups prepared programs in advance.
Gong Wei, director of the Tianhe District Education Bureau, put forward three expectations: First, take responsibility. New teachers should strengthen their sense of responsibility and mission, deeply realize the historical mission they shoulder, be loyal to the party's education cause, and devote themselves to cultivating all-round socialist builders and successors. Second, learn deeply and practice diligently. New teachers should establish the concept of lifelong learning, continuously improve their education and teaching level, actively participate in training and teaching and research activities, improve the efficiency and quality of classroom teaching, and pay attention to their own moral cultivation. Third, proceed steadily and achieve long-term goals. New teachers should maintain an optimistic and positive attitude, have the courage to face challenges, be down-to-earth, continuously accumulate experience, improve their abilities, and become the main force and leader of Tianhe education.
Jiang Yulan, the project's head teacher and director of the training department of the District Education Development Research Institute, emphasized at the launching ceremony that the District Education Bureau and the research institute attach great importance to the training of new teachers. The project team adheres to the "four uses" principle - using wisdom, heart, strength and emotion, and is making every effort to prepare for the training.
It is worth mentioning that before the opening ceremony, the new teachers filled out the wish wall and received blind box gifts. The District Education Bureau hopes that the new teachers can take this surprise and expectation with them, be full of passion and creativity in their future educational careers, contribute their own strength to the cause of education, realize their educational wishes, and reap full professional achievements and happiness.
The training that afternoon began with the "Ice-breaking Journey: Building a Learning Community and Learning Vision" session brought by Jiang Yulan, Director of the Training Department of Tianhe District Education Research Institute, to help new teachers better start their new training journey. Then, Lei Lizhen, Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor of the Department of Teacher Education of South China Normal University, shared the topic of "Educational Punishment Requires Law and Warmth", helping new teachers find a balance when dealing with student behavior problems and achieve the true purpose of education.
