He came to Beijing in 1998. Before working in the express delivery industry, he tried many jobs, including being a laborer, working as a self-employed person, and doing property management.
When online shopping was just emerging, he joined an e-commerce company and became a courier. He is Song Xuewen, a delegate to the 20th CPC National Congress and a courier for JD Logistics.
The development of Internet technology has had a profound impact on the express delivery industry. From the initial rise of the express delivery industry to today's "same-day delivery" and "global shopping", Internet technology has been driving the industry forward.
In the past, the express delivery industry operated in a relatively traditional way, and problems such as delayed information delivery and cumbersome operations often existed. However, with the popularization and application of Internet technology, these problems have been effectively solved. Today, express delivery companies can track the location and status of goods in real time through Internet technology, providing customers with more accurate information.
In addition, Internet technology has also greatly reduced the operating costs of the express delivery industry. Through technical means such as automated sorting and intelligent warehousing, express delivery companies are able to improve work efficiency and reduce labor costs. This enables express delivery companies to offer more competitive prices and better meet customer needs.
Internet technology has also promoted the innovative development of the express delivery industry. Today, express delivery companies can use big data analysis to predict customer needs and trends and provide customers with more personalized services. From "same-day delivery" to "global shopping", Internet technology has not only improved the operational efficiency of the express delivery industry and reduced costs, but also promoted innovation and development. Song Xuewen is a witness to all of this. In his opinion, this job makes him feel the value and motivation. He integrates into the city through one package after another. At the same time, he also personally feels that the ubiquitous e-commerce logistics has truly benefited the general public.
Beijing News:The Internet industry in China, especially in the capital Beijing, is developing rapidly. E-commerce logistics has profoundly changed people's production and lifestyle. How did you start working in the e-commerce express delivery industry?
Song Xuewen:I came to Beijing in 1998. Before I started working in the express delivery industry, I tried many jobs, including working as a laborer, working as an individual, and doing property management. When online shopping was just emerging, I joined JD.com and became a courier. My biggest feeling is that I can feel the value and motivation in this job. There is a customer who I have to deliver goods to every day. After getting familiar with him, the customer gave me the keys to the warehouse for safekeeping. I asked him, "Are you so confident in me?" He said to me, "You send me a package, and I give you trust." This really touched me. I felt kindness and warmth in the comings and goings every day. There are many companies near Zhongguancun in my delivery area. Which company has moved away and which company has been newly established? Xiao Wang from the company opposite did not come to work, and Xiao Zhang from the company upstairs got married and had children. I gradually integrated into this city through one package after another and fell in love with Beijing. At the same time, through my own efforts, I also made my family settle down in Beijing.
Beijing News:In your 13 years of experience in the industry, the express delivery industry has grown from its inception to today's "same-day delivery" and "global shopping". What changes do you feel the development of Internet technology has brought to the express delivery industry?
Song Xuewen: It can be said that the development of e-commerce express delivery has benefited from technological progress, bold innovation, and the continuous optimization of government services. With the development of science and technology and the evolution of the Internet, first of all, the volume and categories of express delivery have experienced explosive growth, the scale of the express delivery industry has also become larger and larger, and the number of parcels has increased. In the past ten years, the volume of goods delivered by the brother has doubled again and again, from a few dozen orders at the beginning to a stable one or two hundred orders per day, and two or three hundred orders during the promotion period. In the past ten years, I have delivered more than 300,000 parcels, with a journey of more than 320,000 kilometers, which is enough to circle the earth eight times. The express delivery categories have also covered all aspects of life from books and electronic products to daily necessities. Later, the business volume increased, the number of personnel increased, and the stations began to be split, and everyone was responsible for a smaller road area. The area I delivered gradually changed from a large area of residential areas and office buildings to only one or two office buildings. But the number of orders is several times that of the beginning. In addition, the service categories are more complete. From same-day delivery to next-morning delivery, next-day delivery, and next-day delivery, from sending heavy items and fresh food to sending to family members and sending in bulk, we provide customers with more optional services in terms of time limit and category. In addition, the improvement of logistics intelligence has led to more and more express deliveries, but they are delivered faster and faster. Express deliveries that once took three days to arrive can now arrive within an hour thanks to the rapid development of e-commerce logistics. In short, from bustling cities to simple villages, the ubiquitous e-commerce logistics has truly benefited the general public.
Beijing News:Technology has helped the rise of the Internet e-commerce industry. What changes has this brought to the courier group?
Song Xuewen: When it comes to the changes in the work of our front-line couriers brought about by technological development, I really feel warm in my heart. These changes are not only reflected in the improvement of work efficiency, but also in the simplification of work processes, timeliness and optimization of work experience. Let me give you two examples. First, the change of transportation tools, from two-wheeled vehicles to three-wheeled vehicles, and then to drones and unmanned vehicles that have been put into use, have overcome terrain restrictions, assisted in the completion of a large number of cargo transportation and collection work, improved delivery efficiency, and greatly reduced the workload of couriers. During the Spring Festival this year, the average daily number of unmanned vehicle delivery orders more than doubled compared with last year. Smart express delivery vehicles and JD Express brothers formed a "human-machine CP" to provide the "last mile" service to homes. Second, the work process is becoming more and more intelligent. In the past, express delivery was signed offline, and the waybill had three or four copies. Every time I held the "big guys" such as the order machine and the cash register, I felt exhausted. Now, the popularity of PDAs, or personal digital assistants, has brought revolutionary changes to the work of couriers. We only need to carry PDAs to process orders, query customer information, and update logistics status in real time anytime and anywhere. This intelligent working method not only improves work efficiency, but also reduces the error rate. The delivery speed may have been 5 pieces per hour before, but now the courier can easily deliver 30 pieces per hour.
Beijing News:Doing ordinary work to the extreme is extraordinary. As a representative of the courier industry, are your business achievements such as all positive reviews and no complaints also make you very proud?
Song Xuewen:It can be said that the past ten years that I have been engaged in the express delivery industry are the most rapid development period of my country's express delivery and logistics industry. I am honored to find my own fun and value in the new business model. As an ordinary logistics person, my mission is to deliver every piece of goods perfectly and satisfy every customer. Speed is more warmth, technology is more humane. In this single praise, I deeply know that it is the magical power of Internet technology that empowers the express delivery and logistics industry, which gives me confidence and confidence.
