walking into the store, the classical and elegant decoration style with bright yellow as the main color gives off a strong palace style. various cakes are neatly arranged on the counter, including palace-style cakes such as fuling paste and palace milk cake, as well as pictographic snacks of various shapes such as walnut cake and persimmon cake, as well as convenient cakes and staple foods such as jujube flower cake, pea yellow, almond tofu, and dream-fulfilling biscuits.
the reporter learned that fangshan tea house is the predecessor of the time-honored fangshan restaurant, which opened in beihai park in 1925 and mainly sells tea, palace snacks and hot dishes. in 1956, it was renamed fangshan restaurant, and then its scale gradually expanded and became an important place to receive chinese and foreign guests. in 2011, the production skills of fangshan qing imperial cuisine were included in the national intangible cultural heritage protection list.
