At 8:00 on August 24, with a long whistle, freight train No. 89035 loaded with more than 4,500 tons of cargo drove out of Linhe Station in Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia, and headed for Ejina Station. This was the first time that the domestically-produced new high-cold and wind-resistant FXN3C diesel locomotive was put into use.
The Linha Railway, which uses the new model this time, starts from Linhe Station in Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia in the east and connects to Hami in Xinjiang in the west. It passes through the three major deserts of Ulan Buh, Yamalek and Badain Jaran. It runs 28 trains a day and is an important material transportation channel between Xinjiang and the mainland.
The newly commissioned FXN3C diesel locomotive is a new generation of products independently developed by my country. It has been improved and upgraded especially for the high altitude, large temperature difference, and sandstorms in the western desert and Gobi areas. The locomotive has a maximum operating speed of 120 kilometers per hour and has the advantages of strong power, sandstorm resistance, high cold resistance, environmental protection, and intelligence. Not only has the performance been greatly improved, but the vibration reduction, sound insulation, and sealing of the locomotive have also been upgraded.
After the new locomotive is put into use, it will help improve transportation efficiency, extend the service life of the locomotive, and effectively reduce maintenance costs.
