On August 21, at the principals' forum session of the Second Annual Education and Teaching Conference of Dongchangfu District, Wang Shuang, Party Branch Secretary and Principal of Guangping Town Central School, gave an on-site exchange report on the topic of "Get it done first, then do it well - the onlookers' stories of Guangping Town Central School."
Guangping Town Central School currently has four complete primary schools and two teaching sites. The largest central primary school has 20 classes and 865 students, and the smallest teaching site, Beilou Primary School, has 4 classes and 62 students. The central primary school has hosted the Liaocheng Rural Primary School Education and Teaching Field Conference twice. It is a national youth football specialty school, a Shandong civilized campus, and a Shandong Provincial Family-School Co-education Demonstration School. The quality of education and teaching and the public recognition of other primary schools and teaching sites are still behind the central primary school. In order to change this unbalanced development situation as soon as possible, according to the Shandong Provincial Government Office's Notice on Issuing the Special Work Plan for the Construction of the National Rural Education Revitalization Pilot Zone in Shandong Province (Lu Zhengbanzi [2022] No. 168), by 2027, the urban-rural integrated education resource allocation mechanism will be fully established, the conditions for running rural schools will be comprehensively improved, the quality of the teaching staff will be comprehensively improved, the quality of education and teaching will be comprehensively improved, and the rural people's satisfaction with education will be further enhanced. The school continues to carry out the exhibition activities of primary schools in the township. The onlooker activity is a means to promote the high-quality and balanced development of schools, a means to improve the quality of classroom teaching in rural primary schools, and an exploration of the school in seeking high-quality development of small-scale rural schools. The onlooker activity is to show the true face of the school's education and teaching work, without fanfare or formalism, but to look at the real situation. It is through this activity that the overall goal of improving the overall work of the school is achieved through continuous development. The activity is divided into two forms: one is the overall work onlooker; the other is the special lecture onlooker.
The primary schools hosting the activities and the dates of the activities will be arranged according to the central school's major events, without advance or delay. On the afternoon before the day of the activities, all primary schools will be notified to bring various daily archive materials, teacher lesson plans, class teacher work logs, home visit logs, student roll call lists, absence tracking materials, homework logs, daily homework, etc., which are formed in daily education and teaching activities, and place them in designated locations on time for participants to visit and evaluate. The purpose is to check the daily material arrangement, storage and material quality. After the material display, the schools under observation will display the teaching results of normal classes, physical exercises, after-school services, club activities, etc. in turn, and the participants will voluntarily comment on them randomly on the spot.
The special lecture observation activity is based on the "One Open Class for Everyone" plan reported by each primary school at the beginning of the semester. It adopts the method of randomly visiting primary schools to check teaching and research activities. No advance notice is given. Two hours before the activity, all teachers of the same grade and subject in the town are notified to participate. The purpose is to focus on the teachers' regular classroom, daily teaching and research work, students' rule-making and classroom performance. After the lecture, the lecturer should talk about the teaching design and classroom reflection, the audience will evaluate the class on the spot, and the subject teaching and research staff will comment and give feedback on the spot. The activity feedback report is sent to the work group of all teachers. After several rounds, it has achieved the primary goal of standardizing classroom teaching. At present, the school has organized two rounds of observation activities and 8 special lectures, achieving full participation of all schools and full coverage of everyone. The quality of education and teaching has been steadily improved, and rural primary schools have gradually been recognized by parents.
We will work hard on the word "truth" and show real results on the word "action", and make the onlookers' activities a real contribution to Guangping's efforts to improve the quality of education and teaching in the entire district.
