According to IT Home on August 17, Xiaomi Chairman and CEO Lei Jun, Group President Lu Weibing, and Group Vice President Wang Xiaoyan live broadcast at Xiaomi Turpan Summer Testing Base.

Lei Jun said in the live broadcast that this is Xiaomi's first time making a car, and we attach great importance to testing. The scale of testing is still the largest in the industry to date.

Lei Jun said that he was particularly moved by the collective sense of honor and determination of Xiaomi executives to build cars together. At the beginning of this year, he called on all executives to participate in the testing. The executive team drove a total of 100,000 kilometers, and the test car drove almost 300 kilometers.

"This is not a difficult task, but it is of great significance. Senior executives need to go deep into the front line and understand the product clearly. Only with this attitude can the product be made well."

According to Lei Jun, Xiaomi conducted 5.4 million kilometers of testing before the SU7 was launched, with 600 test vehicles involved in more than 300 cities, and tested 70,000 charging piles alone.

In May this year, Lei Jun conducted a three-hour live broadcast of driving the SU7, which was viewed by 39 million people. In addition to announcing his views on intelligent driving and Xiaomi's investment in this field, Lei Jun also announced to the outside world that Xiaomi SU7 was still under testing.

"Let me tell you something I haven't told you before. The (SU7) fleet is still under testing. We hope to run this batch of cars for 150,000 or 200,000 kilometers, completing their entire life cycle to see if there are any problems. After all the tests are completed, they may run 11 million kilometers." Lei Jun said that no car manufacturer had ever invested in such a large-scale test before.

As far as IT Home knows, regional road tests or national road tests of traditional car companies usually have a test mileage ranging from 150,000 to 200,000 kilometers depending on the company's requirements.
