Reading together, exercising together, painting together, working together... The students of Class 14, Grade 1 of the First Experimental School of Jinan High-tech Zone had a very fulfilling summer vacation this year. They formed student growth communities and carried out a variety of activities in groups. This not only broadened their horizons and cultivated interests, but also enhanced mutual friendship, turning the "blank period" of summer vacation into a "full period".
In order to solve the problem of "difficulty in caring for students" during the summer vacation and help students grow, under the guidance of the "three guidance" action of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the High-tech Zone Management Committee, the High-tech Zone No. 1 Experimental School launched a student growth community project at the beginning of the summer vacation. The school's first-grade class 14 established four student growth communities, including the Sunshine Team, the Young Eagle Team, the Yangfan Team, and the Cloud Team, based on the distribution of residential communities of classmates in the class, with convenience as the principle and efficiency as the goal, to jointly carry out activities such as learning, reading, and social practice. The class teacher serves as the instructor and tracks and guides each student growth community throughout the process.
Since the launch of the student growth community project, each team has carefully formulated a daily plan. "Summer training" means that members of each community go out together, meet at the doorstep or in the small square, skip rope, play games, eat watermelon, and enjoy the joy of sweating in the summer.
In the "family shared small classroom", students help each other by doing homework together, reading extracurricular books, daily calculations, explaining difficult problems, and having meals together, so that learning is no longer lonely and difficult problems are no longer difficult to solve. All members of the community "eat together, work together, and grow together."
Each community played its own advantages and organized a variety of social practice activities. On August 10, members of the growth community of the class went to the China Rescue Shandong Search and Rescue Dog Mobile Detachment and carried out the experience activity of "Approaching the 'Flame Blue' and Feeling the Style of the 'Paw Patrol'". By watching the search and rescue dog training on site, listening to the rescue stories of the search and rescue dogs, and having close contact with the search and rescue dogs, students felt the glorious mission of the "silent warriors" in peacetime and the hard work of the trainers. In addition, the communities of the class also carried out activities such as garbage classification publicity, painting a better future together, and visiting the traffic police team, which broadened their horizons, helped others, and learned more extracurricular knowledge.
"The political and educational traditions of the school are passed down, and the moral education is the first priority for a century." Through the continuous and in-depth development of student growth community activities, the peer effect is becoming increasingly apparent. Under the joint care of school, family and society, students' cultural literacy, social skills and social practice abilities have been greatly improved. Not only have they gained a meaningful holiday, but they have also accumulated strength for the new semester.
