with the continuous advancement of automobile technology, the wireless charging function of mobile phones has gradually been widely used in automobiles. most luxury cars ranging from million yuan to entry-level models worth 100,000 yuan are equipped with this function. compared with the traditional wired charging method in the past, the biggest advantage of in-vehicle wireless charging is its high adaptability. mobile phones that support the qi wireless charging protocol can be charged. there is no need to carry various charging cables when driving, which can effectively avoid the need for wires in the car. what a mess. so for models of different brands and different price points, is the actual use effect of the wireless charging function consistent? this time we will conduct wireless charging performance tests on 10 popular models at different price points that have been launched in the past year, covering joint ventures and independent brands, and find answers through comparison of test results.
1. test equipment and process
in order to simulate the real usage environment, we used two mobile phones, apple iphone 13 pro and huawei p50 pro, as fixed test machines. during the test, the two mobile phones were first depleted of power, and then placed on the car's wireless charging pad to charge for 15 minutes to test their charging efficiency. after charging, use an infrared thermometer to measure the back of the two phones to test the heat generated by the body.
2. analysis of test results
1. charging capacity comparison
after actual testing, cadillac iq ruige, changan qiyuan a07, byd qin l, volvo ex30, beijing hyundai sonata, gac honda e:np2 and saic volkswagen passat pro all support the apple fast charging protocol, so the test results are satisfactory. , the charging capacity reaches or exceeds 10% within 15 minutes. among them, saic volkswagen passat pro has the highest charging efficiency, reaching 16%. in comparison, bmw brilliance 5 series, beijing bj30 and jifox alpha s5 are not very friendly to apple phones. the charging capacity does not exceed 10% and the charging efficiency is low.
in the test of huawei p50 pro, 4 models support huawei’s fast charging protocol. among them, jifox alpha s5 performed best, with a charge level of 21%. the test results of guangqi honda e:np2 jipai 2 and beijing bj30 also exceeded 15%. in contrast, cadillac iq ruige, changan qiyuan a07, bmw brilliance 5 series, byd qin l, volvo ex30 and beijing hyundai sonata do not support huawei's fast charging protocol, so the test results were at the bottom, and the charging capacity did not exceed 6%.
overall, the gac honda e:np2 and saic volkswagen passat pro, which both support apple and huawei fast charging protocols, performed well in this test session. the former is more friendly to huawei phones, and the latter is more friendly to apple phones. the charging capacity reached 17% and 16% respectively. in comparison, the overall performance of the bmw brilliance 5 series is slightly inferior to other test models. it is not very friendly to apple iphone 13 pro or huawei p50 pro, and the charging efficiency is low.
2. comparison of heat generation of mobile phones
in terms of body heat, when charging apple iphone 13 pro, the temperature difference of four models exceeded 10 degrees celsius, namely changan qiyuan a07, beijing bj30, beijing hyundai sonata and saic volkswagen passat pro. among them, changan qiyuan a07 has the largest temperature difference, reaching 21.9 degrees celsius, which is obviously hot to the touch. in contrast, byd qin l has excellent temperature control during charging, with the temperature difference before and after charging the phone being only 3.2 degrees celsius.
when charging the huawei p50 pro, only the volvo ex30 had a temperature difference exceeding 10 degrees celsius. in contrast, changan qiyuan a07 performed best in controlling temperature differences when testing huawei mobile phones. the temperature difference before and after charging the mobile phone was 2 degrees celsius.
overall, byd qin l's overall performance is better than other models in controlling the temperature difference when charging apple iphone 13 pro and huawei p50 pro, but its efficiency when charging huawei p50 pro is relatively average.
3. comparison of wireless charging functions
