according to reports, in order to have a more systematic and comprehensive understanding of the kukutni painted pottery culture, provide first-hand materials for the comparative study of yangshao culture and kukutni prehistoric culture, and provide cross-cultural research for the yangshao culture, including the neolithic prehistoric culture. as an inspiring case for comparison, four units, the institute of archeology of the chinese academy of social sciences, the zhengzhou institute of cultural relics and archaeology, the iasi archaeological institute of the iasi branch of the romanian academy of sciences, and the national museum of moldova in iasi, jointly formed a sino-romanian joint archaeological team in 2019. in july, the five-year china-romania joint archaeological excavation project of the dobrovac site was launched. this is the first time a chinese archaeological team has conducted archaeological excavations in europe since the founding of new china. from 2019 to 2024, china-romania joint archaeology has continued field excavations for three archaeological seasons and achieved some phased results.
