at 15:28 on august 30, under the 16f wind turbine in zhongzhen, qianxi city, guizhou province, a group of builders were cheering. this was the full capacity of the cnnc qianxi zhong 100mw wind power project connected to the grid, and it finally ushered in its moment of victory.
at this moment, 21 wind turbines across the three towns of zhongping, zhongping and dingxin are dancing in the wind among the endless mountains, echoing the blue sky, painting a picture of the integration of clean energy and natural scenery. a harmonious picture.
construction will start in august 2023, and it will be "first merged" in december 2023. approval, survey, construction, installation... in 4 months, they have created history; in august 2024, in one year, they will usher in full capacity. the grid connection was completed 200 days ahead of the first-level plan, once again setting a new record for cnnc huineng’s mountain wind power construction.
as cnnc's first independent wind power project in guizhou, the project team set a speed target for cnnc from the very beginning. guizhou has steep mountains, continuous mountains, and the instability of karst landforms, making transportation and construction both difficult. "western guizhou wind power is a hard nut, but we at china national nuclear corporation are the hard nut to crack." meng xiangning, the project manager, encouraged everyone at the project kick-off meeting. from then on, they began to overcome difficulties one after another.
mountain transportation, don’t take the “ordinary road”
a wind turbine blade is 97 meters long and weighs 25 tons. it is difficult to transport such a huge object off the national highway.
the project was initially planned to take national highway 212, but the exit was far from the construction site, and there were many households along the route. the amount of fiber optic and high-voltage line relocation was very large. therefore, the project team coordinated and communicated with the road administration department many times, and finally decided to change the route after arriving at zhongzhen along the national highway. renwang expressway, then open a temporary exit in the service area, build a new section of access road, and transport it directly to zhongping town. meng xiangning said: "the adjustment of the plan has saved at least half the time for the transportation of 12 wind turbines in zhongping town, and greatly reduced transportation costs."
from the town to the airport, you still have to pass through many villages. the biggest difficulty lies in the transformation of the "three lines" of routes, network cables, and electric wires. in order to minimize the impact of the power outage, the construction team chose to dismantle the power grid and underground pipes at night and restore power supply in the early morning of the next day. on-site construction manager chen jin said, "each power grid has more than 30 wires, and they all need to be dismantled and buried in one night. the amount of work is very large. to ensure that production and life are not affected, we must complete the relocation as quickly as possible." according to statistics, during the construction period, the project relocated and modified 128 communication lines and 141 power grid lines.
among the "third line" transformation, route transformation is the most difficult. many rural roads have unstable foundations and are narrow and sharp, making it impossible for wind turbines over 90 meters to pass. the project team needs to make repeated calculations, reinforcements, expansions, and new repairs. many slope sections also require several excavators to be dragged in front with traction ropes. make sure the transporter climbs up. qi mingming, deputy project manager, said: "during the construction of the project, we built a total of 49.5 kilometers of roads, which also provided convenience for villagers to travel."
the wind turbine transport truck has a long wheelbase and the blades need to be fixed on adapters, making it suitable for highways or flat wind fields. after entering the mountainous township roads, faced with complex terrain, a terrain drop of more than 300 meters and a slope of nearly 18%, only a second transfer can be carried out.
zhang jianfu, general contracting project manager, said, "fixing the wind turbine blades to the rotating platform of the special vehicle allows the blade root posture to be adjusted at multiple angles. the rotating platform can rotate 360 degrees, and the blades can be rotated when encountering complex road conditions that are difficult to pass directly. go to any suitable angle to ensure safe passage.”
in addition to the transportation of large equipment, the transportation of outgoing line towers is also a big problem. iron towers are often built on top of mountains, and construction access roads cannot be built due to terrain conditions. at this time, the horses kept by the villagers came in handy. they put the tower materials on horseback one by one, and went back and forth several times through the uphill trails. finally, they transported all the tower materials to the top of the mountain, and then workers reassembled them. the whole process consumes a lot of manpower and horsepower, but it is also the best currently. solution. "we also considered using drones for hoisting, but considering safety, we finally chose the traditional method of people lifting horses." meng xiangning said.
extreme weather, insist on "fast, solid and stable"
from december last year to february this year, qianxi city experienced nearly three months of freezing weather, with most transportation, hoisting and other operations at a standstill; from april to june, it suffered severe floods, with large areas of roads in the site the accumulation of water and the collapse of part of the roadbed affected the construction period of the project by more than 50 days.
in order to catch up with the progress and deadline, the project team was racing against time. timely study and adjust the construction plan, and on the premise of ensuring safety, comprehensively increase the inventory of transportation vehicles and storage yards, use two main cranes to carry out lifting, ensure that the two working surfaces are constructed at the same time, and optimize resource allocation to avoid blind entry of personnel and machinery. the market leads to lost work.
"the coordination problem is the most difficult to solve during the period of work. we have to calculate the time every day. sometimes there are hundreds of phone calls a day to communicate how and when the equipment will come into the site. every day, we have to ensure that we transport as much as possible, and we are afraid of the second time. bad weather affected the progress," meng xiangning said. "the weather in guizhou faces a lot of uncertainty every day, including freezing, rainy and instantaneous strong winds. when the construction schedule is seriously affected, we can only seize every good weather and advance the construction with the 'fast, solid and stable' work idea. quick finger what refers to progress actually refers to quality, and stability refers to safety, which means that on the premise of fully ensuring safety and quality, we must maximize the speed by increasing the operating area, operating time, labor personnel, and coordinating people, finances, and machines. construction." qi mingming said.
benefit the country and the people, continue to assume responsibility
wind power construction itself is an important measure to accelerate the progress of the "double carbon" goal. environmental protection must be given top priority during the construction process. "ecological priority, integrated development" has become the overall goal of the project construction planning. before construction, the project department will reasonably arrange the construction area according to the actual conditions on site to minimize the occupation and impact on the land. facilities and equipment should be stacked according to the on-site layout plan to minimize temporary land occupation.
in order to prevent the impact of construction dust on air quality, the project department will stop construction in windy weather, sprinkle water on the construction site to reduce dust, limit the driving speed of transport vehicles, and cover it with tarps to reduce dust. for the excavated exposed surfaces, vegetation will be planted as soon as the construction work is completed to promote water conservation restoration as quickly as possible.
in view of the special soft soil geological conditions, the project department decided to use wooden piles to reinforce the slope after repeated detection and calculations. compared with other reinforcement methods such as masonry, wooden pile reinforcement can not only meet the needs of short-term construction and transportation, but also minimize the impact on the ecological environment.
when the windmill turns, the people become rich. since the start of construction, the project has attracted more than 50 local people to participate in the construction, and signed labor contracts of more than 900,000 yuan. it also actively encourages villagers to participate in road maintenance, project signage and flagging, etc. at the same time, it has built basketball courts and public toilets for various towns and villages with a total cost of more than 500,000 yuan.
on the evening of june 25 this year, a rare heavy rainstorm occurred in qianxi city. some village roads in zhongping town collapsed, and several households in low-lying areas were at risk of flooding. just when everyone was at a loss, the project department promptly mobilized loaders and excavators from the nearest machine positions, promptly built water-blocking dams in low-lying areas, and repaired roads in landslides overnight, effectively protecting people's lives. property security.
straight out of the towering pingchuan, you can see the clouds waiting for the wind to fly. the inexhaustible wind energy drives the blades to rotate, and every kilowatt hour of electricity comes from the builders’ hard work and innovative craftsmanship. it took one year to complete the project and put it into operation, a full 200 days ahead of the first-level schedule, and won recognition and praise from energy authorities at all levels. achievements belong to the past. when it was put into operation, the wind power construction team had already moved to decide on new wind power projects in western guizhou. listen, the sound of their "merger" came from over there again.
