gan opera is a traditional local drama in jiangxi province, a national intangible cultural heritage, and one of the four famous ancient vocal styles. jinxi village, huaiyu township, yushan county is one of the birthplaces of gan opera. in recent years, huaiyushan central primary school has taken this as a starting point to vigorously promote the "gan opera into campus" activity and develop and implement the local characteristic course "sui yu gan yin", which combines teaching with entertainment, teaching with learning, and teaching with practice.
cultural construction, creating a gan opera atmosphere
in order to create a strong gan opera cultural atmosphere and give full play to the educational function of the environment, the school integrates gan opera culture into the campus cultural construction so that students can be influenced by it. a gan opera cultural corridor is built on the campus, which contains gan opera knowledge, various roles, and photos of students from the gan opera club participating in performances. there is a gan opera classroom, and the school has specially purchased gan opera costumes and performance headdresses, so that students who come to study and visit can understand the gan opera culture and art through real objects.
the school makes full use of the campus radio station, wechat public accounts and other media to promote famous gan opera pieces, the history of gan opera development, gan opera activities in the school, etc. the school also organizes a series of gan opera activities, such as "the first lesson of the new semester, happy to learn gan opera", "appreciate "qingfeng pavilion", and pass on the virtue of respecting the elderly" and other themed gan opera activities.
we created and sang the school song "ganyun campus sings tomorrow" with the charm of gan opera, and invited huang wenxi, a famous gan opera artist, to compose the music, integrating the three character classic, tao te ching, and citizens' moral code into it, making gan opera an important part of campus culture. we also regularly invite gan opera artists or inheritors to be guest teachers, give professional knowledge lectures to the school, and demonstrate teaching and tutoring work.
training first, establishing a teaching staff
in order to achieve the goal of "opening up to everyone" in gan opera education and teaching, the biggest problem is the shortage of teachers. currently, there is only one representative inheritor of "yushan class performance" in yushan county, wang minxian, which is far from meeting the learning needs of students. therefore, the school has set up a team of gan opera teachers, carefully selecting teachers who are keen on spreading excellent traditional culture and have a certain musical foundation, and learning from wang minxian. the teachers learn with an open mind, listen carefully to every word, watch carefully every move, practice repeatedly, and polish their skills. for a time, the school was full of gan music and the charm of the opera was lingering.
after more than 200 days and nights of hard work, the teachers of gan opera have mastered the basic knowledge of gan opera and have acquired certain appreciation and humming abilities, laying a foundation for the teaching of gan opera. constructing courses and ensuring the teaching of gan opera to ensure that the teaching of gan opera culture can proceed smoothly in huaiyu central primary school, the school has built a "1+4" curriculum system, innovated the education model, and achieved the integration of the five educations.
"1" means: taking the national curriculum as the main body, embedding gan opera into it. in music class, teachers integrate gan opera into the opera curriculum and lead students to appreciate the famous gan opera segments; in art class, teachers integrate the teaching content of "gan opera culture" on the basis of the original art curriculum, depicting gan opera facial makeup and designing gan opera costumes, etc.; in chinese class, teachers lead students to appreciate the texts of gan opera repertoires and feel the unique charm of chinese. the embedding of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor into gan opera teaching is the school's exploration and practice of promoting the school-based national curriculum in accordance with local conditions and students.
"4" means: to carry forward gan opera with school-based curriculum as the four wings. a four-wing curriculum framework of "gan opera in stories", "gan opera in the taste of ink", "gan opera in children's voices" and "gan opera in rhythm" is built for students. "gan opera in stories" is offered in the third grade to learn about the origin, history, roles and other knowledge of gan opera, focusing on cultivating students' interest in gan opera and language expression ability; "gan opera in the taste of ink" is offered in the fourth grade, focusing on learning to draw the facial makeup, costumes and gan opera cartoon characters in gan opera, focusing on cultivating students' aesthetic ability and innovative creativity; "gan opera in children's voices" is offered in the fifth grade to understand the role characteristics, performance methods and singing styles of gan opera, and learn to sing the classic songs of gan opera. "gan opera in rhythm" is offered to all students, and teachers choreograph "gan opera rhythm exercise" as the school exercise. the combination of gan opera and radio exercises is a brand-new attempt and experience, which not only makes students learn with interest and shows the beauty of the posture of opera, but also makes them feel the charm of gan opera while enjoying their body and mind.
build a platform to stimulate learning interest
gan opera culture has a deep cultural connotation. in order to help teachers and students better and faster understand and master gan opera, the school has established an interactive mechanism with the yushan county cultural center. the cultural center often invites provincial intangible cultural heritage inheritors to the campus to train teachers and perform for students. folk artists are organized to record some classic singing segments, bridges, and music in advance in the recording studio to make audio materials. when students sing, they only sing selected lyrics and add actions to reduce the difficulty of learning gan opera.
as the course progressed, not only did teachers and students fall in love with gan opera, but parents also fell in love with the “local accent and opera rhythm”. parents encouraged their children to actively participate in gan opera learning, and the community participated in the joint operation of the school. gan opera built a bridge between home, school and community.
expand influence and gain various honors
the activities of gan opera entering campus and the development of the course "broken jade gan yin" reflect the responsibility and commitment of huaiyushan central primary school in the new era. the school has been successively rated as "jiangxi province campus culture characteristic school", "municipal school-based teaching and research advanced school", etc. in 2017, the "broken jade gan yin" series of school-based textbooks were awarded the first prize by the county teaching and research office in the evaluation of excellent school-based textbooks in the county; in 2018, the gan opera "peony pairing medicine" program won the second prize in the municipal performance; in july 2019, the school's "broken jade gan yin textbook" was awarded the first prize of the "second outstanding course" by the jiangxi provincial teaching and research office; in june 2019, the school's gan opera project "practical research on traditional culture teaching in the form of drama (gan opera)" sub-topic special research project provided a theoretical research basis for the further deepening of gan opera teaching. in 2021, it was recognized by the ministry of education as the "third batch of national primary and secondary schools for the inheritance of excellent traditional chinese culture".
