recently, a spicy hot pot restaurant near southwest university in chongqing caused controversy because of its name "xiaoyuan". the owner zhang xiaoyuan told jiupai news that the name of the restaurant came from her name, "i have used this name for more than 30 years and never thought that such a thing would happen."

screenshots circulating online showed that someone posted a picture of a store sign on a social platform and wrote: "boss, don't you think the name of your store is humorous?" many people also verbally attacked the owner in the comments.

on september 24, the store owner zhang xiaoyuan responded that the store name was taken from her name and had no other meaning. "when the incident happened, the store had not yet officially opened. someone posted the store sign online to attack it. after i clarified it, i received an apology from the blogger. considering that he is a student, i don't want to delve into it."

unexpectedly, a few days later, an account named "college of arts continuing education office" commented on her post: "you haven't changed your name yet, and you will go bankrupt sooner or later."

after zhang xiaoyuan contacted the relevant department of southwest university, she learned that the poster was a student of the university. the account later apologized and has now changed its name.
