recently, li yunfei, general manager of byd group's brand and public relations department, revealed on his social media that byd's total number of employees has exceeded 900,000, and the total number of technical r&d personnel has reached nearly 110,000, making it the automaker with the largest number of r&d personnel in the world.

compared with 290,000 at the end of 2021, byd's total number of employees has increased by 200% in four years. today, byd is not only the company with the largest number of employees among more than 5,300 a-share listed companies, but also the automaker with the largest number of employees in the world, and has become a veritable "international giant".
according to data disclosed in byd's annual report, byd's r&d personnel will exceed 100,000 as early as 2023, surpassing toyota and tesla to rank first in the industry. the proportion of r&d personnel will increase from 27.3% in 2022 to 29.3% in 2023; among them, the number of masters will increase by 202.87% year-on-year to 23,706, and the number of doctors will increase by 168.98% year-on-year to 1,587; the number of r&d personnel under the age of 40 will account for about 95%.
"at byd, technology is king, innovation is the foundation, and the core is r&d personnel." byd chairman wang chuanfu once said at the annual shareholders' meeting that byd's advantage does not lie in how much assets and profits are reported in the financial statements, but in the 100,000-strong "team" of engineers that are not reflected in the financial statements. this is the foundation for byd's future development and sustained growth.

while promoting employment of the labor force, byd attaches great importance to the training of recent graduates and has formed a complete talent training mechanism internally.
for example, we periodically organize school-enterprise exchange activities, build a two-way communication platform between schools and enterprises, and carry out the "tomorrow's stars: hundred-day transformation fresh graduate training camp" for fresh graduates every year.
