Qinyuanchun Changsha

Standing alone in the cold autumn, the Xiang River flows northward, at the head of Orange Island.

Look at the mountains all red, the forests all dyed red;

The river is clear and blue, and hundreds of boats are competing for the current.

Eagles soar in the sky, fish swim in the shallows, and all creatures in the frosty sky compete for freedom.

Feeling melancholy and desolate, I ask the boundless earth, who controls the rise and fall?

I brought hundreds of friends to travel together, and recalled the glorious past years.

We are young students, in the prime of our life;

The scholar is full of vigor and is full of ambition.

He pointed out the mountains and rivers, wrote inspiring articles, and regarded the marquis of that time as dirt.

Do you remember paddling in the middle of the river, with the waves stopping the boat from flying?

In 1925, when Mao Zedong left his hometown of Shaoshan and went to Guangzhou to preside over a peasant training institute, he revisited Orange Island in Changsha, recalled his experience of studying in Changsha when he was young, and wrote this passionate "Qinyuanchun".

At that time, Mao Zedong, who was in his 20s, was concerned about current affairs. He and Cai Hesen and others organized the New Citizen Society, which was dedicated to finding a way out for China.

"We are young students, in the prime of our youth; we are full of vigor and ambition, and are full of determination and determination." This is a portrayal of the young Mao Zedong's state of mind. They are full of confidence, high spirits, and are concerned about the country and the people. They still inspire countless young people to forge ahead.

Caisangzi·Double Ninth Festival

October 1929

People grow old easily, but heaven never does; Double Ninth Festival comes every year.

It’s Double Ninth Festival again today, and the yellow flowers on the battlefield are especially fragrant.

The annual autumn wind is strong and does not feel like spring.

Better than spring, with the vast river and sky covered with frost for thousands of miles.

The Double Ninth Festival is in the autumn, and the chrysanthemums are everywhere, which is desolate. The ancients had a tradition of "sad autumn", and there is no lack of bleak and desolate meanings in their poems.

Chairman Mao swept away the decadent and bleak atmosphere of autumn, and with his magnificent and brilliant poetry and high-spirited passion, he aroused people's heroic spirit and noble sentiments in striving for their ideals.

Whenever I read this autumn poem, I feel that the autumn with yellow flowers everywhere is also very exciting.

The mountains are like the sea, and the setting sun is like blood.

Recalling Qin'e - Loushanguan

February 1935

The west wind is strong, the sky is full of geese calling, and the frosty morning moon is shining.

Frosty morning moon, the sound of horse hooves and the muffled sound of trumpets.

The road ahead is as hard as iron, but now we can start over.

Starting from the beginning, the mountains are like the sea and the setting sun is like blood.

This is a picture of a march on a winter night, depicting the scene of the Red Army marching across Loushan Pass after the fierce battle of Loushan Pass.

The bitter west wind is blowing fiercely, wild geese are calling in the frost, and the moon is in the sky. The moon is in the sky, the sound of horse hooves is fragmented and mixed, and the sound of military bugles is deep and low. Don't say that the mountains are as hard to cross as iron, but let us gather our flags and move forward.

The whole poem has less than 50 words, but it is majestic and tragic, with great momentum. With just a few strokes, it has a heavy "weight", like a simple drawing by a master.

"Seven-Character Verse: Long March"

October 1935

The Red Army is not afraid of the long march, and will overcome thousands of mountains and rivers with ease.

The Wuling Mountains are winding with surging waves, and the Wumeng Mountains are majestic with rolling mud.

The water of Jinsha River hits the cliffs and is warm, while the iron chains of Dadu Bridge are cold.

I am even more delighted to see the thousands of miles of snow on Mount Min, which makes the three armies all smile after passing by.

In October 1935, Mao Zedong led the Central Red Army across the Min Mountains. The Long March was about to end, with dawn and victory in sight. With his heart surging, Mao Zedong wrote this magnificent poem with great pride.

The poem "Seven-Character Verse: Long March" only uses 56 words to highly summarize the various difficulties and obstacles on the Long March. Through vivid and typical examples, it enthusiastically praises the revolutionary heroism and optimism of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, which is not afraid of difficulties and is brave and tenacious.

No matter how great the difficulties, no matter how tough the obstacles, as long as you keep moving forward courageously, you will surely reach the other side of victory.

Qingpingle Huichang

The east is about to dawn, don't say you are leaving too early.

You will never grow old after walking through the green mountains, and the scenery here is unique.

The high peaks outside Huichang City extend directly to the East China Sea.

The soldiers looked at South Guangdong and saw it was even more lush and green.

In 1934, Mao Zedong was squeezed out of the leadership group and "recovered from illness" in Huichang. On this day, he climbed Huichang Mountain and wrote this uplifting poem.

"I have travelled through the mountains yet I am still young, the scenery here is the best", reflects Mao Zedong's positive and optimistic mental state and his indomitable will.

This is Mao Zedong! He is always confident about the future despite the adversity!

I am happy to see the rice and beans rolling in waves, and heroes everywhere in the evening smoke. I wrote Chairman Mao's poems during the Spring Festival of 1964, by Ye Ping. Author: Ying Ye Ping

"Bodhisattva Man·Dabaidi"

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet, who is dancing in the sky with the colorful ribbons?

After the rain, the sun sets again, and the mountains and hills are green.

The fighting was fierce that year, and bullet holes were left on the wall of the village.

Decorate this mountain pass, it looks even better today.

Some people say that this is Chairman Mao’s most poetic poem.

The poem depicts a colorful and magnificent scene of Dabaidi after the rain in a cheerful tone. Looking back on the past, it reveals the great significance of the revolutionary war. They enthusiastically eulogized the people's revolutionary war and revealed a sense of relief and optimism after the victory.

Qinyuanchun: Snow

The scenery of the north is covered with ice and snow for thousands of miles.

Looking inside and outside the Great Wall, all I see is wilderness;

The river suddenly stopped roaring.

Silver snakes dance on the mountains, wax elephants gallop across the plains.

I want to compete with the gods.

You need a sunny day to see the red and white clothes, which are particularly charming.

The country is so beautiful that it attracts countless heroes to compete for it.

It is a pity that the Emperor Qin and Emperor Han were slightly inferior in literary talent;

The founders of Tang and Song were slightly inferior in style.

Genghis Khan, the great hero of his generation,

I only know how to shoot eagles with a bow.

All the past is gone, and the heroes of today are still to be seen.

This is one of Chairman Mao's most widely circulated poems.

The first part of the poem uses a light and concise brushstroke to depict the vast and magnificent realm and the scenery of mountains and rivers, which makes people yearn for it. The second part sighs at the magnificence of the motherland's mountains and rivers, and introduces heroes such as the Qin Emperor and Han Wudi, discusses heroes of all dynasties, and expresses the author's great ambition and mind.

"All the past is gone, and the heroes of today are still to be seen." Every time I read this, it makes my blood boil.

"The People's Liberation Army Occupies Nanjing"

The wind and rain on Zhongshan Mountain cause a gray and yellow sky, and millions of soldiers cross the river.

The tiger and the dragon are more powerful than before, and the world has changed dramatically.

It is better to use the remaining courage to pursue the enemy rather than seek fame by imitating the tyrant.

If the sky had feelings, it would also grow old; the right path in the world is full of vicissitudes.

In 1949, the People's Liberation Army crossed the river and occupied Nanjing. The jubilant Mao Zedong wrote this "Seven-Character Verse".

The poem begins with a unique peak and extraordinary spirit, like a mountain pressing down on one's head and thundering with overwhelming force. The two words "heroic army" vividly depict the mighty and unstoppable heroic posture of the People's Liberation Army. The three words "crossing the Yangtze River" vividly describe the heroic spirit and the mighty and vivid scene of the People's Liberation Army crossing the Yangtze River.

"If the sky had feelings, it would also grow old. The right path in the world is vicissitudes." This reveals the truth that the four seasons in nature change, the movement never stops, and the metabolism of all things in the world never stops.

"Swimming" from Water Melody

I just drank Changsha water and ate Wuchang fish.

Cross the Yangtze River and see the vast sky of Chu.

No matter how windy or how rough the waves are, it is better than strolling in the garden.

I have some spare time today.

The Master, standing by a river, said: “Time passes by like this!

The wind blows the masts, the tortoise and snake remain still, and a grand plan begins.

A bridge spans the north and the south, turning the natural barrier into a thoroughfare.

I also built a stone wall on the Xijiang River to block the clouds and rain on Wushan Mountain.

A calm lake emerges from a high gorge.

The goddess should be fine, and the world should be shocked.

In June 1956, Chairman Mao toured the south and wrote this poem after swimming along the Yangtze River three times in Wuhan.

The poem depicts the phenomenon of China's active construction in 1956, expresses Mao Zedong's heroic spirit for the Chinese people to build the motherland and change the mountains and rivers, reflects Mao Zedong's vision for the future, and also expresses the historical significance of a bridge connecting the north and south of the country.

The whole poem not only traces back to history, but also explores the laws of nature; it not only contains the perception of life, but also the thinking about the world and life.

"Bu Suan Zi: Ode to Plum Blossom"

Read Lu You's poem about plum blossoms and use it in the opposite way.

Wind and rain send spring away, while flying snow welcomes spring.

The cliff is a hundred feet of ice, but the flowers are still beautiful.

Beauty does not compete for spring, but only announces the arrival of spring.

When the mountain flowers are in full bloom, she laughs among the bushes.

In June 1960, the Soviet Union withdrew all its experts from China and tore up hundreds of agreements and contracts. At the same time, New China was in the three difficult years. During this severe difficult period, Chairman Mao was still full of hope, and he used plum blossoms to express his feelings at the time.

In the cold winter snow, the plum blossoms stand proudly, with their heads held high on the "cliff", looking down on the "hundred-foot ice", and vowing not to give in. Finally, the brilliant spring has arrived, and the plum blossoms are hidden among the flowers, smiling slightly.

Isn’t the image and style of the plum blossom a true portrayal of the older generation of revolutionaries who adhered to the truth and were extremely brave and outstanding?
