When it comes to Ubisoft games, many people will think of the numerous question marks and points of interest. But Ubisoft Massive said that this will not happen in the early stages of Star Wars: Desperadoes.

Julian Gerighty, creative director of Star Wars: Outlaws, was recently interviewed by GamesIndustry, a foreign media outlet, and talked about some common issues, such as players' fatigue with series such as Far Cry and Assassin's Creed. Gerighty said that Massive's DNA was different from the beginning.

Compared to Ubisoft, Massive's DNA is quite unique. Star Wars: Outlaws has some different approaches, such as when players first enter the game and crash-land on Toshara, there will be no annoying task lists and collections.

"Kay hasn't explored the galaxy, she doesn't know that," Gerighty said. "When you first come to Toshara you get a map and you see the mountains and some other things, but it's exploration that gives you more information."

There are actually no towers for players to climb to open the "fog of war" on various planets. The protagonist can clear it through exploration, or by looking for intelligence, such as eavesdropping on NPC conversations to discover certain missions and activities. Players can also play "Sabacc", a popular card game in the Star Wars universe.

Planets (and space) are also full of life, with sudden events happening, such as the Empire arresting some civilians and criminal groups clashing with each other. "Every two or three minutes, something happens, and you can choose whether to participate or not," Gerighty said. "We don't want to add content just for the sake of scale. We need to keep the content tight, always provide fun, and bring in a variety of different types of activities."

Recently, Ubisoft Massive also stated that Star Wars: Outlaws has been carefully designed to ensure that the game is always fun. The side quests are as long as the main quests, and the total time to complete these quests (main + side quests) is between 50-60 hours.
