at 00:00 on september 25, the fishing moratorium ended at miyun reservoir and the reservoir was officially open for fishing. the miyun reservoir comprehensive law enforcement brigade conducted a strict inspection of fishermen and equipment in advance. after meeting the standards, 212 fishing boats docked at the various exits, looking forward to the first catch. fisherman guo xiaochao told reporters that he caught 600 to 700 kilograms of fish on the first day, including more than 10 kilograms of bighead carp.
on the morning of september 26, at a farm in xiwengzhuang town, miyun district, three large fish caught from the miyun reservoir were put on the "fish king" logo booth for auction. the proceeds of the on-site auction of 680,000 yuan were all donated to the beijing miyun reservoir protection public welfare foundation, which will be used as public welfare funds to support rural revitalization, poverty alleviation and water source protection work in zhuxi county, hubei province, kulun banner, inner mongolia, luanping county, hebei province and other areas that miyun district has paired up with to help.
the reporter saw at the scene that many catering units set up reservoir fish food stalls to compete in cooking skills. in addition to the traditional way of stewing reservoir fish, some stores have made new ways to cook reservoir fish. some restaurants use reservoir fish to make dumplings, and some fry herring into pies. shan changli, chairman of the miyun agricultural group fishery production and marketing association, told reporters that according to rough statistics, miyun reservoir fish can produce more than one million catties per year. because the water quality of miyun reservoir has always been maintained at class ii under strict water conservation measures, the fish meat is of better quality and has less earthy smell, which is very popular among beijing diners.

the annual fish king food festival has also boosted the development of surrounding tourism. wang weiying, the owner of the b&b, told reporters that all the rooms in her b&b are almost fully booked, and many tourists have recently come to the reservoir to taste the fresh fish.
