innovation comes from demand, and results are achieved on the front line
at present, guo jiming is leading the team to explore further application of digital twin technology to optimize the production process. "in the past, automation projects could only be developed linearly in the early stages of development. engineering design, physical model manufacturing, testing, and on-site debugging could only be done step by step, and the development to on-site cycle was long. through our independently developed digital twin technology, the company was able to carry out development and testing without physical scenarios in the early stages, which can effectively shorten the development cycle by 4 months." he said.

in 2012, he joined the assembly workshop of saic volkswagen engine plant no. 3. during the construction of the production line, guo jiming was responsible for equipment debugging and trial assembly of the latest generation of engines, learning the dual skills of assembly and maintenance. during his work, he actively participated in the professional technical innovation results platform, starting from the optimization of the sprocket lower cover equipment program to improve the production rhythm, optimizing the interference problem of the oil pan lower body equipment fixture, and other small details, laying a solid foundation for future technical cultivation. in 2018, with the rise of intelligent manufacturing and the digital transformation of enterprises, the assembly workshop established the "public wisdom dream building" innovation studio. guo jiming actively participated in learning and training after work, and began to delve into the field of digitalization and intelligent manufacturing.
introducing collaborative robots in the traditional engine factory assembly workshop is an important project independently developed and completed by guo jiming and his team. today, there are 29 collaborative robots working hard on the production line, driving a significant increase in production efficiency. "these robots are already able to 'take on' tasks such as automatic tightening of bolts, automatic loading of spark plugs, and dual-robot collaboration, and the factory's automation rate and production efficiency have been improved. especially in the bolt tightening process, the first-time pass rate has been increased to more than 99%." guo jiming said proudly that from scheme design, installation programming, tool development and production to on-site debugging, the entire process was independently completed by the engine factory team, and human-machine collaborative production under the mixed-line state of multiple models was realized.

in terms of product data management, guo jiming noticed that there was a time difference in information communication between departments. when some important processes changed, if the information was not updated in time, the production site would be affected. to solve this problem, he led the team to independently develop a system that automatically downloads, verifies and pushes process change information, shortening the manual download and verification process that previously took nearly a day to 5 minutes.
